I've noticed a lot of Zelda sites are dieing out lately.
7 of TDC's affiliates are currently offline and 3 more haven't updated for many months.
I've been checking Zelda Blog everyday since it went down in
July and the same message pops up every time.
QuoteZelda Blog will be offline until further notice. We can't say what's going on right now, but don't worry, we'll be back up and about as soon as possible! Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your understanding!
Is this because lack of news?
It probably is as simple as the lack of news causing sites to shut down. Most webmasters probably have to make the decision to cancel their hosting payments when they realize that they haven't updated in weeks.
It's a good thing we have weekly updates, eh? ;)
The Legend of Zelda series has been a pretty dry well of info since Phantom Hourglass came out.
It's kind of sad to see one of Nintendo's flagship titles treated so badly.

I agree. Even if they do release a new Zelda it'll be
even easier than PH, which I could probably beat with my eyes closed. Or according to Miyamoto anyways. He says:
QuoteI think it's very important for us to not only take the types of games that we've seen in the past and continue to polish them and make them more immersive and more extravagant, but we must also look at ways to make video games accessible to more people.
And
QuoteWe need new game experiences like Wii Music and Wii Fit
Oh God! Not more Wii Sports!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Zelda's dying, I'd be happy- I mean, it died a reasonably good game. If Nintendo kept going on and making horrible games, I'd be very upset.
That being said, I'm willing to be patient and wait for a good game to come out.
I don't really think that the community dying necessarily reflects the series dying. The community is just pretty fickle, when there's silence from Nintendo we all tend to quiet down too. It's true that we haven't had a new Zelda game or news of a new Zelda game in a while, but that doesn't mean it's a dead series.
The community seems to be though. But then again, it'll come back to life whenever we start hearing of the next Zelda game. It always does.
I think Link sums up the sparse info of the series pretty well:
QuoteGee, it sure is boring around here
The community will die down without Zelda.
Its as simple as that.
However, we're not just a community here at the Colossus.
We're a family- and we talk about more than just Zelda.
I enjoy everyone's company here, and I can stick it out until we get another game.
I agree with Fisk over there.
I'd rather wait 4 years, and get an amazing game than wait 2 years and get something mediocre.
I love Zelda, and I can wait for something fantastic. :)

While your absolutely right ZV, we barely ever
do talk about Zelda. The Zelda section will go post-less for months, give or take one or two posts in extremely old topics. We need to work on that. Come on people! Think of new theories!
please
Theory usually consists of mythology. Mythology in Zelda usually consists over many things. We could try talking about the history of the Shadow Temple, make something up from that... Or we could do something else that focuses on the mythology of the Zelda series.
Right now there isn't much to speculate on sadly...
Well DH92, your book is also in the making. That gives us something zelda to talk about. Also, King Komali has come up with a few theories, too.
We're not like, "dead" as you describe. It's just nothing BIG is really happening.
Well, there's the SandCast and its radio play...
But no one cares about that...
:'(
And we now have the clans, too.
But the mods aren't caring about that either (at least not so much to finally get the questions done)

Well, I could bring up my fanfics, but here's the thing: Ocarina of Time is the only game in my backstory for the setting of
The Land of Legend, and I change some things around, like having Sheik be a female instead of a male. All other games are represented by slight to large references, if they show up at all, and with how I have things planned out, I sincerely doubt I can use a Zelda game as a plot for a future segment. So for the most part I have created my own mythology of the Zelda universe based on the games (including HA2 to an extent, and
Eloze had some influence on me as well). But if you really want to talk Zelda, I guess I could start a topic in the Fan Works board and share my ideas with you all instead of with just Mags (and Tayro, if he ever gets on again ::) ).

Like anybody cares enough about that to make a new topic about it.
It is sad that Nintendo is going barren. I don't know if it's that they're out of ideas for gameplay or plotline, but I was talking with my friend and he said that they should make Zelda an online multi-player thing like WoW or Flyff.
Anyway, it is a good thing we have weekly updates. Even my Zelda site is sort of a Ghost Town, but it's not like there were very many members to begin with. ;)
My site is spiraling down the tubes because I don't trust my computer enough to not shut down on me constantly as I'm trying to type up my fanfics. That, and I'm under the impression that Mags is the only person who cares about my fanfics anyway.
