Well, December is here and everyone knows what that means: Christmas.
I personally love this holiday (who doesn't), and I already know what I plan to milk from my loved ones. One item rhymes with S - Ox 350.
What do you plan on seeing/getting/whatever on Christmas?
I haven't even started Christmas shoping, nor do I know what I want. Maybe someone in my family could use a DVD recorder. That idea popped into my head the other day when I was fumbling around looking for a blank video tape to record a football game.

Hmm, an Xbox 360? I wish you luck on that, my good sir. I'm a PS3 man, myself, but if the 360 is the one you want, I hope you get one.
I know I'm getting some good stuff for Christmas! A few CDs I've been wanting for a long time, "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue" and "Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction" for my PS3, "Rez" for the PS2, and a Sega CD system! I considered asking for a PSP, but I really can't think of many games I'm that interested in getting for it... I'm mainly just interested in it for the Remote Play feature, and that doesn't even work for many games.
Hey, it's you. Aureliano.
I'm not a big fan of Christmas these days. Far too much commercialism out there.
Of course, I'm not going to turn away presents. Tieflings are apparently a playable race in the 4th edition D'n'D Player's Handbook. I have to get the 4th edition D'n'D core rulebooks.
About half i'm asking for is Wii games. ;)
I also asked for a subscription to gamefly. Does anyone else have it/know anything about it?
And by the way HnS, what does D'n'D mean?
We had GameFly for a while, FR. It wasn't too bad from what I can remember, but I think we did run into issues with it. Also, D'n'D, I assume, means Dungeons and Dragons.
Oh, yeah, welcome back to the Desert, Aureliano.
It can also mean Department of National Defence, but that's just silly.
Yes. D'n'D is shorthand for Dungeons and Dragons.
Oh, thank you. To tell you guys the truth, I thought Dungeons and Dragons was like, just a made up game on TV. ;)
And also, to you guys' recommendations, I am asking for Pokemon Crystal.
I'd ask for Platinum if it were out already. Ah well. ;)
And yes, Aurel, welcome back. I thought you were Howl at first (it would be great if she came back, too, though!)
Only thing I'm really asking for is Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. I'm surprised I even asked for that, honestly. I normally don't care much about presents. I have gotten presents for several people though. I'm not sure if I'm going to be home for Christmas or not, so depending on how that turns out...:/
I'd also kind of like to ask for book 1 of Pictures of You, but...not sure my Stepmom would approve if she looked into it.
I'm mainly getting smaller presents this Christmas the majority of which are clothes. So clotheswise I'm hoping to get: A GORGEOUS tweed skirt I found, Some polo shirts, A sort of sleeveless cricket jumper, tights, gloves, a hat, and a hoodie.
Plus like some jewellery and hair stuff.
I've also asked for from one relative Okami for the Wii and the books American Psycho and The Book Thief.
But yeah I recently went Christmas shopping, spent about £50 (But that did include £20 on a jumper I found, but it was like 30% off so it was worth it!).
And then I spent another £20 online for a friend amd my Dad, and I STILL need to buy my brother something!

Heck yeah, son! It doesn't disappoint if you liked the original. :D
I don't really want anything. I'm perfectly happy with what I already have, and I don't have any urgent desires for anything else. My parents are shocked.
I... don't have a whole lot on my wishlist. CD's no one's heard of, mostly.
I've been making card after card after card for everyone I know, though. The friends, I mean. 15 of them off the internet. 2 irl. (not because I don't want to, but just because.... well, me liking them is a gift in itself :V and I'm poor)

It's the same with me this year. I don't really want anything for Christmas and my parents are trying to find out why. ;)
Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
Hey Alical, Okami is a great game, I truly recomend it.
HNS, what's a Tiefling?
Honestly, I would be happy with a few Frank Sinatra CDs and a few bucks in my wallet but my family heard of my grades and want to reward me this Christmas.
Its k Fisk. I are pur 2
It's the holiday spirit that counts. I love the atmosphere during Chrismas
Wiki'd. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiefling)
I'm also asking for Brawl. Is it easy to get used to the Wii-mote's control scheme?
It was even easier than I expected, though I will suggest using the Wii-mote and nunchuck as opposed to just the Wii remote. You can also play with a GC controller if you'd rather stick with the old. You can give me your Friend code once you've got it. :)
In my opinion, the GCN controller is way better than the others (not sure about the Classic Controller, though...); I say so mostly because it's easier for me to DAC and Bombsmash. Plus, it's just a familiar scheme all around.
But yes, the Wiimote on its side is, as DH92 said, easy to use; no doubt. There aren't as many buttons to memorize, but precision in jumping is sacrificed, especially in a pinch.
[/nerd]
It looks like I'll be getting Pictures of You after all. I'm excited, means I can show it to friends and hopefully get Gibson Twist some exposure.

Yep. My mom has asked me over seven times. ;)
Same here. My mom was really relieved when I finally got a basic list down. Usually I can think of a ton of things I want to get, but this year... it was different. It's all the more strange that several of us have had that problem, though.
I forgot to mention, I found my Dad an awesome gift! It's something he's been wanting for a long time, so I think he'll be quite pleased.
I think I might get an iPod video or something because the one I have right now (green mini) I've had since 7th grade and it doesn't even play unless it's hooked up to the charger. Plus, I just want something that can hold more music. ;) That I'll get from my dad and as for my mom...well, she had be circle some DVDs in a catalog. Those'll probably be her presents. But I'm mainly looking forward to the Hanukkah sugar cookies. Yummers. :D
What i want for christmas hmmm. How about a hippotunamous or my two front teeth. Actully i want model airplanes.
I found out through my cool spying skills that one of my Christmas gifts is all expense paid driving tutorial once I turn 16 (in about 7 months). Also, I got my 360 earlier due to brown nosing, so those who wish to add me it's: C0l Aurelian0
Dude, four words: Get "The Orange Box."
It's the best deal in gaming today. "Portal" is excellent, as several people here will attest to. "Half-Life 2" is incredible. Fantastic story and gameplay. "Team Fortress 2" is one of the best and most enjoyable online gaming experiences you'll ever have, and since you're a 360 owner, you'll be getting updates soon that will make the game even more awesome.
Best part of all? There are two more games in the package, and the whole thing only costs $20.
You know those chair thingies that slide up the stairs so old people don't have to climb them? We're getting my grandparents one for Christmas.
Those are fun to ride! If, of course, you like slow, gradual rides. :-[
I'm sure your grandparents would be thrilled to hear you call them "old people," Whocares.
Also, the Sega CD I'm getting for Christmas was supposed to be here today, but instead, it's in California. They apparently completely missed Nevada when they were transporting it here. I feel like I should demand a refund from the post office for wasting my time and delivering second-rate service.
Ouch, man. That stinks! Perhaps the guy fell asleep at the wheel, but I'm just guessing.
I'm getting Lego starwars for the Wii!
Me and my mother are going on a family vacation to a winter resort place with the rest of my side of the family tomorrow. My father would come with us, but then he'd miss his family's vacation, so he's coming later. I'll be gone for about a week.
Our Christmas trip got cancelled on account of the holy crap snow attack that we've had these last few days. I'm perfectly fine with that.
Also, the twins are getting a tablet. I plan to mooch off this when I can >.>
My Sega CD still hasn't arrived. Now it's getting to be not so much a question of "will it be here in time for Christmas?" as a question of "will it be here at all?" My other stuff hasn't arrived, either.
I hate the post office.
In other news, it looks like we won't have to have either the Christmas Eve or Christmas Day parties at our house, which I'm very relieved by. Having the Christmas Eve party would suck because as soon as everyone leaves you're in a mad rush to clean up the mess and go bed, and having the Christmas Day party would probably suck even more because you don't have any time to check out the stuff you got and instead would have to hurry to make sure everything is ready for company to be here, and I'd also have to drag everything I got to my room so I can lock it up safely in there to prevent people from messing with it.
I haven't done much shopping,
but I've made it a know fact that I wait either a 360 of PS3. And a few miscellaneous games (including an MMORPG) as well as some music.
Only problem with the MMORPG is that I have a mac, and lets face it, mac gamers don't exsist. *laughs*
And who ever put the post about Lego Star Wars, it rocks. LOL
I'm getting an MP3 player of some sort; hopefully going to get a 360, but my parents are against anything non-Nintendo.
My boyfriend's getting me Donnie Darko and something else, apparently. I'm making him a stuffed animal of a dragun.
Heh, while I was in Hawaii a few weeks ago, I went to a swap meet and got presents for a bunch of my friends. I got Isaac this awesome little wooden frog with a stick in its mouth. You take the stick out and run it up the ridges on its spine and it croaks.
Those frogs are great, I think I've seen them somewhere, very cute.
Me and my friends did a secret Santa because or else we would have each had to have bought like 10 presents. I got my person these gorgeous slipper sock things and a huge bar of Galaxy.
On our last day of school my RS teacher bought in a tray of croissants, and slices of fruit cake and apple pie, and a plastic container of sliced ham, then he told us a story. It was really sweet.
And on our second to last day we had to walk to church for the school's carol service, which was okay, except my form tutour was sitting near me which meant I had to sing. I am BAD at singing.
My marching band peeps and I do a secret santa thats not secret.
As in we just pick names and get a gift.
My person wanted Pokemon Diamond.
It was epic.
Jan. 5th we are battleing at school.
Hahaha
We had a mini party yesterday with family, everyone opened two presents. I got a sweatshirt (God knows I need more) and Elite Beat Agents.
God, let me tell you, that game is addicting. Nice music (though the fact that all except Jumping Jack Flash are covers kind of annoys me) and most of the stories are quirky and hilarious. Most of. There's this one certain mission (if you've played the game, you know what I'm talking about) that had my bawling. It was completely out of place! All these cute happy missions, then this really depressing...although then it got kind of happy-sad...you know what I'm talking about.
...
Dancing solves everything >.>
EDIT: Also, since I'm going to Dad's tomorrow, we're opening our presents from Mom today. So I'll post about that later.
My Sega CD arrived in the mail yesterday. Christmas is saved!
Well, almost. Still wating on "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue."
I broke a window a few months ago, and I haven't found any way to pay it back except to not get christmas presents. I really don't mind though...
Actually, the only thing I'm getting is a new ocarina, but it was out of stock until today. But I can wait.
I opened my boyfriend's presents today- he got me Donnie Darko, the Director's cut (best movie ever) and Mulberry, which is apparently about Zombie Rats.
... He also got me a huge chocolate bar. That was depressing. (I... don't like chocolate XD so I ate some and then gave the rest to my friend. hedoesn'thavetoknow)
So, umm, yeah. I played that mission from EBA again and was reduced to tears once more. A scene that sad doesn't fit in a game like that :(
Anyways, so, results of today's present opening:
Kingdom Hearts, Re: Chain of Memories (Scotty's playing it right now >.>)
Okami (Can't wait to pop this one in)
Crosswords DS (The 'crosswords' part of the title is highly misleading)
Guitar Hero pajamas (YeahIdon'tknoweither>.>)
A bracelet of some sort (Jewelry's not my thing; I like it, terms elude me)
Tales of Beedle the Bard WITH a Sirius Black bookmark ( ;D)
The newest Redwall book (Wasn't aware he'd written another >.>)
A set of puzzles to kill myself solving ( :-X)
Moviemaking equipmet (Blew my mind. It's low-quality, but hell, it works!)
The twins got a Wii, with an extra Wiimote(no nunchuk), NiGHTS, and Sega Superstars tennis. Grandma REALLY likes them. Needless to say, I'm mooching off of it.
If you get a chance to play "NiGHTS," let me know how it is. I've always wondered how it'd stack up against the original.
By the way, what kind of moviemaking equipment did you get?
Well, it's got two greenscreens with stuff that'll let me clip it to the door, wall, pretty much anywhere. A CD with the software that'll let me do animation and stuff as well, and a two foot tall tripod with a tiny little camera that connects via USB. So yeah, no outdoors filming for me, but I could use it for some stuff. The camera's pretty low quality, I uploaded a test video to see how it'd come out and it's...not good. No idea why, really.
liiiiiiiiiinkaaaaaaaaaaaage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSS8Lf6efo4)
You sound teh sexy.
Well, I'm pretty excited because I'll finally be getting a video iPod because my green mini won't play for long unless it's constantly hooked up to the charger. FINALLY! I will get to listen to music without it constantly charging. And hopefully my dad will get a long enough warranty on it because things always seem to break right after their warranty is up. Electronics are evil. ;D
I got my Sister Wii Play and Cooking Mama: Cookoff. I'm guessing that she may want to have the former returned...
What's funny is that when I went to the local Wal-Mart, they still had a bunch of Wiis just sitting there. I also saw a guy buying a PS3. Kind of hard to believe, but I guess both are relatively plentiful compared to previous years.

My voice is deeper than I thought it was.
I got my mom a bracelet thing, my sister an iPod radio transmitter, and my mom and I got my dad a gift card and five 1.5 liter bottles of wine. I mostly got cloths and stuff but I also got Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and the new Batman movie. The Force Unleashed is a pretty fun game with an interesting storyline, and it has been what I have been spending much of my time on. I only wish the duel mode had an online feature.
No D'n'D and Brawl, but I did get "The Ninja Handbook." I'm a learn how to be a ninja! ;D
I also got Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Final Fantasy III; both are good so far, but I'm already at a lost of where to go in FF III. I also got the 5th book of The Wheel of Time series, and I should start reading that soon before I forget what happened in the first four books (again). My younger sister got me this Celtic Ladies Christmas CD set, and I've yet to listen to that; perhaps Sunday while I wait for something good to come on TV. Finally, I got the 365 Stupidest Things Ever Said day-by-day calendar. It, of course, won't come into use until January 1st, but once the new year begins, I'll be starting everyday with a laugh. :D
Dude, we should make a 365 best quotes from TDC calendar. We have a week to find enough; let's get to it!
Also, HNS, I've all but beaten FF III, so go ahead and ask me where you're stuck at.
Thus far, I had acquired the following:
A lightshow thing
A Wii Zapper and, thus, Link's Crossbow Training (pretty good game; short, though)
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon (a great game, especially if you've played and liked Dark Cloud and Fire Emblem)
A nutcracker
About $20
Probably a few other things...
So yes, it's all good. ^^
And Shika, your idea rules. Let's do it!
Well, at Dad's house I got two books on acting, three sweatshirts, and a can of tennis balls.
These gives me a grand total of FIVE sweatshirts for Christmas. God knows how many more I'll get come my birthday in just over a week.
And I'm making the topic now.
I got my sister Nintendogs: Labrador version for Christmas.
As for me, I got:
LittleBigPlanet
Rock Band 2
A Gamecube
Super Smash Bros Melee
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
You JUST got a Gamecube? Man, that's worse than me. Than Bri, even. Wind Waker's loads of fun though.
HEY now Shika...
On nevermind, you were right, I have had a pretty pathetic gaming life. BUT NO MORE! I now have a Wii.. sad thing is I didn't get it from family...
Christmas Haul:
1. Blanket
2. Lotions
3. Purse (x2)
4. Animal Crossing for D.s.
5. Wii, Sports, Animal X-ing and Twilight (none from family)
6. Pjs
7. $325 for Scotland
8. $10 to Coldstone Icecream
And this is from ALL my relatives, distance ones too and my bf's family.
I got-
iPod nano (silver with black buttons)
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia (best CD ever.)
Blackfield - Blackfield II
an airbrush (I use it to paint things with air.)
Pokemon Diamond
Animal Crossing: City Folk
and Brawl.
My boyfriend got me a movie about zombie rats and Donnie Darko, too.

And I got the Gamecube because my parents said they had 30-40 dollars left to spend so I asked for a Gamecube.
I got World of Warcraft-- the original and Burning Crusade. People don't know that I'm not a Christmas person, but I don't mind.
I'm also going to be buying Wrath of the Lich King, which should happen once I hit level 70.
I got:
The Dark Knight
Bender's Game
Star Trek The Next Generation Season 4
Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
Cologne
Some sweaters
Beethoven's Symphonies Conducted by Herbert Blomstedt
I should also be getting one other thing that didn't arrive in time...
My haul:
A flashlight
"Live at the BBC" - The Beatles
A $20 GameStop gift card
Xbox 360 pajamas (they were half-off at Macy's and I liked them)
A mini PS3 gift card tin
A $25 Wal-Mart gift card
$65 in cash
"Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction" and "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue" for my PS3
"Rez" for my PS2
"Walls and Bridges" - John Lennon (I've had the LP for years but only now got it on CD)
"McCartney" - Paul McCartney (Same story here)
A Beatles-themed Monopoly game
"Guinness World Records 2009"
"Ripleys: Believe it or Not!" (Not sure which book precisely at the moment)
A Sega CD system with three games
A Beatles 2009 calendar
Some cool t-shirts and various other items of clothing
Some Christmas ornaments
I plan on buying "Sonic Unleashed" and possibly "Assassin's Creed" with the money I got.
My sister and I also got a Nintendo-themed Monopoly game, and she got "Animal Crossing: City Folk," which she has been obsessed with. Since it came with the "WiiSpeak," she's had a lot of fun playing with that, too.
Also, Gamefreak, if you ever want to play "LittleBigPlanet" online, let me know.
QuoteCastlevania Order of Ecclesia
That's what I forgot to ask for!
Anyways, I also got a couple sweaters, a nice shirt, a Led Zeppelin T-shirt, and a Legend of Zelda t-shirt.

She probably won't either, but because we don't play Monopoly; too long. :-*
Supposedly there's a 60-minute "QuickPlay" option... or at least that's what it says on the back. Still, though, 60 minutes on a board game? Still a bit long...
An hour isn't actually that bad. At least for me, but my mom volunteers for everything, so she nearly always have something to do.
I keep on telling her she has to learn how to say no.
let's see...
A new scooter,
A ripstick,
Twilight Princess,
Wind Waker,
Subscription to gamefly,
$105 cash, then - $15 from gambling. ;)
A marshmallow pikachu lollipop :)
A workbook wrom my aunt. ??? But, when I finish each of the 10 exercises, I get 2 bucks.
A new Songbird Ocarina (XL extended range sweet potato),
And the new book of Zelda songs the website has.
I'm planning to get Phantom Hourglass, and Animal Crossing City Folk with my new moneys.
I had a lovely Christmas it was quite fun.
We also had an "alternative" boxing day, which basically involved having curry instaed of the usual roast leftovers.
Here are a few of my presents :
-£100 worth of GAP vouchers ( Already spent half of it)
-£60
-Okami (Wii)
-American Psycho (The Book, I watched the Film on TV on Christmas Eve, Christian Bale is just amazing)
-The Book Thief
-Twilight Movie Companion
-Gloves
-J'adore by Dior Perfume
-Lancome Mascara and Lipstick
-Hair Stuff
-iPod Speakers
-"Pretty Woman", "Clueless" and "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging" on DVD
-Tights
-Make up bag
-Philosophy Shower Gel and lip balm (Angel Cake Flavour)
It was great. And yesterday my Aunt hired a car to take us all to the London Coliseum to see "The Nutcracker" Ballet.
2 late gifts came today in the mail: The Nightmare Before Christmas 2-Disc Special Edition and Beethoven Piano Concertos.
I've been wanting Nightmare Before Christmas forever, but it only just recently got rereleased on DVD. Before the rerelease, it was out of print :(
I bought myself "Sonic Unleashed" for my PS3 today with my Wal-Mart gift card and some cash. I guess it could kind of be considered another Christmas present.

As much as appreciate it, I'm afraid I'll need your/ her
Wii Number. I purchased the Wii Speak alone, so I do not have Animal Crossing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, press the letter icon on the Wii menu (bottom right corner). Then press the icon that says "create message". After that, go to your address book and flip to the front page. That's the number I need.
EDIT: You have the Wii Speak channel as well right? If not, go to the Shop channel and click Settings and Features. Then click Download ticket and put in the code that came on the paper that came with the speak thingy.

Since it came with the "WiiSpeak," she's had a lot of fun playing with that, too.
Give me your Wii code! I got Wii Speak as well and desperately need someone to chat with! (I don't know anyone else who has it) :'(
I'm sure she'd be happy to have someone to play with (and talk with). Here's the information:
Friend code: 0560-0909-5112
Town: Bag End
Name: Dani
As much as appreciate it, I'm afraid I'll need your/ her Wii Number. I purchased the Wii Speak alone, so I do not have Animal Crossing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, press the letter icon on the Wii menu (bottom right corner). Then press the icon that says "create message". After that, go to your address book and flip to the front page. That's the number I need.
Our Wii code should be in the "Friend Codes" topic in the Chatboard. We'll need yours, as well, then.
I looked there, but it wasn't.
My code is: 5568-5444-3236-9275
I'll post it in the friend code section as well.
Oh, yeah, should have mentioned it'd be on the front page under "Gaara."
Anywho, we will add you ASAP.
Today, we got a Wii from a relative (who was on Christmas vacation with her friends and couldn't visit) in the mail. I wasn't exactly intimidated by the Wii at first, by I enjoy it, now that I've tried it out.
Cool! did you get any games with it?
No, because she didn't really have any idea which ones I would like. Plus, I already have pretty much all the Zelda games, except PH, so...
I kick butt at tennis. :)
