ARGH! IT. IS. DONE.
It took a bunch of divs (and one </dir> tag, which doesn't even exist) to make it happen, but the TDC Forums finally work in FF3!
Plus, the log-in is now in the side bar, which is just neat!
ALSO::
TDC NOW WORKS IN GOOGLE CHROME AS WELL!! So, yeah, if you wanted to use that, you can now. I know I didn't because of TDC not working.
So yes. Wooo.
That is completely, irrevocably awesome.
Now time to go back to a normal member, minion. >:3
Yaaaaaaay! I don't have the weight of the forums on my shoulders anymore!
Until the next thing goes wrong and I have to be a temp admin again to fix what apparently was an internet anomaly.
</dir> tag, man! I INVENTED A TAG. A termination tag, at that.
Hooray! No more gap!
Thanks, KP! The forums owe you a great deal.
Seriously, thank you.
No problemo.
Before I lose my admin powers, I just made a few adjustments.
Namely, the copyright information is back up (probably needs to be there for legal reasons) and I took care of that odd radio button that was showing up because of the search box.
What I would like is a little more space at the bottom of main page, right after everyone's usernames.
KP...THANK YOU! Now I can finally upgrade without worrying about the gap! :D
Also, being a curious one when it comes to HTML/CSS, I must ask: What was causing the huge gap in the first place? A CSS problem?
It was just plain old HTML... and the fact that Jack clearly never expected the site to be run by anyone else. :( His code is cryptic.
Mostly I just had to assert some control over where the forums actually were positioned. Which was hard, because the forum itself doesn't exist in the template, just everything around it, if you can believe that. But it's done now...
Ah, okay. Yeah, I think I see where you're getting at. Just organization issues, then.
Okay, question answered. Thanks, KP. ^^
ARGH.
Why didn't anyone tell me the copyright was floating over the forums?
RARARGH.
I'm going to need admin access AGAIN.
I suppose another thing to mention is that short posts, only a few words long or so, don't take up the whole forum space if they begin a new page or topic.
You're going to have to elaborate/provide an example on that one...
Sorry, it's kind of hard to describe. Here's a screenshot (http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/1417/34250105dw7.png) for your convenience.
It's doing the same for Firefox 3.
Just in case you thought it was just Opera.
Oh.
...
I have no idea. Let me fix the copyright first and then we can talk. I'm going to need someone with FF2 to talk to, as well.
I have Firefox 2 (but probably not for long XD ).
What exactly is the problem here, again? Everything looks fine to me.
Look on the right side under the links. Does the copyright information (Simple Machines etc.) hover over the forums? Or off the right edge of the site? Or is it somewhat centered on the nav bar?
Also, are we still having problems with small posts?
EDIT:: Apparently not.
Copyright info is to the side, under the links, on Opera.
EDIT: No problems with posts being too narrow, either.
That's where it should be. Is it centered mostly?
For me, it's floating off the navbar to the right, but only a bit. I'd suggest removing the float (if it's being used) and adding, say...a forty-pixel/percentage margin to it. Or have it be padding. Whichever works.
It's pretty much centered for me.
EDIT: The forums look great, KP! No problems on my browser. Once again you've done an excellent job!
Thanks TW.
Actually Magmar, it's just a div. The problem is that, between FF2 and FF3, the positioning is different for some reason. But I'd rather it be to the right anyways, since before it was covering actual text.
Maybe I'll just make it smaller to cover all the bases, but, I don't know.
EDIT:: OK yeah that's as good as it's going to get.
Yeah... But it's not getting in the way of anything, so it's fine.
