As am I. But let's not get too excited, it might not be Zelda, or anything for that matter. But here's the weird part to this whole thing; Over at the Sega site they've got a countdown as well:

http://pole.sega.jp/

Seems strangely Mario themed.

And they both end at the same exact time!

Yeah, I know, but whenever I hear something related about a new Zelda game I get psyched XP
But I just hope it's not a Zelda-Harvest Moon game. I mean I like Harvest Moon, but the two together...no.  :(

That's scary. o.o;;
If only I could read kanji.  :(

I want to believe that Nintendo is about to make a big announcement. Anyway, maybe he wants to reveal some games that will be made in cooperation with these companies. I'm trying to think pretty realistic here and not getting my hopes up.
Now, if my calculations are right, the countdown should be over in the night of the 22nd.

Edit: And amazing discovery by this guy:

I think this pretty much finalizes it, you guys. Quoted from another poster on another site:

"Interesting little thing to note.

Do a google search for "site:http://www.mmv.co.jp/ Zelda" without quotes. That will make it so you only search the Marvelous Entertainment website for any following keywords, in this case, "Zelda".

Notice how the only result is this one:
http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/30/

Coincidence? I think not."

Notice how every 35 seconds it flashes and turns back instead of continuing like a normal clock. Strange.

Or something with a similar time mechanic. Either way, it'd be awesome.

Why so sudden for an announcement, though? We typically have E3 and the Tokyo Game Show for those. Seems a bit...quick, wouldn't you think?

Also, here's something to think about.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, as someone named Jason once (like thirty seconds ago) told me.

This means that people talking about that site in relation to Zelda so much that the google spiders (the ones that get information) automatically assumed the two were linked, and so they just parsed the two together so that the page would be described as "zelda".
Title: Re: What the...?! (Zelda related) (That means you must look)
Post by: MagmarFire on January 18, 2009, 12:51:24 PM
The spiders are taking over our browsers now? *gets insecticide*

Horrible jokes aside, what does this mean, then? Does it mean it's more of a coincidence, or is it that they're really just unrelated but assumed to be related because the two are talked about in the same discussions this frequently?

If that made any sense at all... :-*

This is definitely exciting.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, because the last time I got my hopes up over a new Zelda game, they were washed away in sadness...
But the fanboy inside of me is screaming LET THERE BE ZELDA!!~
And Davy Jones, STFU, seriously, MM is my favorite game, and you made the hope inside of me swell in ways that I had hoped to prevent, thanks a lot >.<

Edit: And would you call it a Majora's Mask sequel, or an OoT threequel?

Yay!!  :D :D :D I wouldn't mind one. :D
...Wait. o.o
Ok, so, how long does it take until the clock turns back?

Oh, and it must have something to do with a feather, too.

This thing is very curious. What do you think it means how the whole triforce is at the top, then only 2 in the bottom right corner, then only one in the bottom left?

Nothing comes to mind...

I think it's weird how the triangle holding the clock is like, slanted, and the wood is cut to make the clock straight up.

Also, the ring on the top makes it likely that it clips on to something.

Hmm...
Title: Re: What the...?! (Zelda related) (That means you must look)
Post by: MagmarFire on January 18, 2009, 02:35:19 PM
It might represent a countdown thing. Notice that the second hand rotates clockwise (duh XD ) and that it starts out with three Triforce pieces, going over to two, and then to one.

"3...2...1." Or something to that effect.

OK so since no one answered my question...

After 30 seconds the clock rewinds. And this brings me to this:
After 3 days in MM you start over.
Plus, in MM there's a clock. And in MM (I just confirmed this), in MM teh clock takes 30 seconds before the picture on it turns clock-wise.
And 30 seconds is how long it takes to go around the clock.
:D

Sigh...

QuoteRumor #2: The Floating Clock
The Countdown Clock - Zelda? I think not.

Does that picture look familiar to you? You might have been one of the twenty or so people who sent this story in to us, but rest assured it, too, has nothing to do with Zelda. Ignoring the heinous possibility of Nintendo outsourcing the next major Zelda game to a 3rd party - the first time this would have been done since The Minish Cap, discounting Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland - the only thing connecting this rumor to Zelda is people's lack of ability to read Japanese and their sniper-like ability to spot Triforces. Even if Marvelous Entertainment is responsible for the well-known Harvest Moon series, there's no reason for Nintendo to suddenly bring them into the development of Zelda, and especially in such a low-key way.

The Triforce is a common symbol; Nintendo actually doesn't hold any intellectual property over this iconic design. Why? Because the three triangles have been used throughout history. Look at a Sierpinski Triangle, a fractal that is, basically, made out of Triforces. The general idea is that there is beauty in dividing one large equilateral triangle into four separate and equal equilateral triangles - not to rip off Nintendo.

The triangles, in this clock's case, are the numbers. 3, 2, 1. They could have used squares, but hey - guess what? - the clock is triangle-shaped. he triangles, by design, and by Sierpinski's wonderful fractal, fit into that shape perfectly. The following thought graces my mind: The local mall in this area has a giant 3D statue of something that looks just like a Triforce. How come Nintendo isn't at my mall presenting the next Zelda game?

Several people who can actually read and understand Japanese, and not just use Google Translator, have told me that this has nothing to do with Zelda. Although I cannot read Japanese myself, I trust these sources very much.

And to solve the "magic" that was the clock page showing up on Google searches for things like "http://www.mmv.co.jp/ + zelda" - Google's algorithm gathers keywords from the internet and groups sites to those keywords. If you talk enough about a site being related to Zelda, Google is going to think that it is and group the search terms. In essence, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy - you want the site to be related to Zelda so much that you talk about it enough to cause Google to group the site to the false keyword. And when somebody runs the search and discovers that the site is linked to the keyword, then screams "It MUST be Zelda!!", they think that some prophecy has been fulfilled and that it really is Zelda, not knowing that they - and the countless others who linked the site to the Zelda keyword - inadvertantly caused this false connection to occur.

I hope the Zelda community has just a tiny bit more sense now, so that we can all get excited over a real announcement.

Quoteon a webpage, if you go to "view" then "source" you can see it all in html format, thats how to rip things off webpages when usually u aint allowed, like u can rip pics and vids off and stuff like that, but who ever writes the code can also write other stuff in the source that doesnt come up on the actual webpage

And if they want us to believe it's zelda?
Just like that webmaster from that obscure page wrote, the triforce is not trademarked. What if the third company was pulling an "innocent" stunt to atract Zelda fans?
I still have mixed feelings over this, since the clock does look zelda-like.
Although, it is posible that Nintendo finally trusted a third company to develop a 3D Zelda...

Anyway, did anyone calculate how long till it stops counting?

Edit: Midnight, between  the 22nd and the 23rd, which happens to be my mother's birthday, but she'll have to wait until I get my hands on that fresh info.

PS - Didn't you get an MM vibe when I said "night of the 22nd"?

Still, if that were the case, there'd be two 3-D Zelda titles in production at the same time. As awesome as that would be, it would sound a bit too good to be true. We'd be going back to N64 days when we had a huge 3-D release only two years after OoT, and I'm not sure if I can see that happening any time soon...

Well my theory about it is completely killed. I was thinking in the MM Manga the original side story had a man who killed Majora the dragon thing and he used a feather that turned into a sword. I had a theory that the guy was The fierce deity AKA Oni-link. So it could have been a MM sequel. DARN YOU!
