Reviewing the other topic about PKMN (PoKeMoN, not PiKMiN), I came across many pkmn whose pokedex entries I remebered. Many of them consisted basically of "[main feature] remains a mystery"; an example would be Digglet, no one has ever seen his lower body, or magnemite, scientists do not know how he manages to float. This of course carried on to other generations, like Cyndaquil's eyes' having never been seen.
This, of course, led to the conclusion that PKMN scientists really know heck about pokemon, I mean, c'mon! It's really not that hard to do some research; the guys know how to transmit matter as energy for crying out loud and they don't know how cubone looks without his mask!!
Maybe because doing these things might drastically alter the pokemons Evo-adreniline causing them to evolve immediately?
Could also be that they like respecting their privacy, but Chuck's explanation is better.
It could be, but I don't see a reason for them not to do a necropsy.
Nintendo refuses to make any significant changes when they move to the next generation, aside from simply adding more pokemon/moves/items.
Pokemon don't die. They faint. And if you read the books in the library at The sea place in D/P you find that a dead pokemon becomes another pokemon almost immediately.
Here is a link to the EVO-Adrenaline theory
Doctor oak is a genius.
Oh noes its not on Pokecharms anymore!
Um, no, they don't die in battle.
Usually.
I think they can die of old age.
In the manga they die. but only if purposely killed not fainted.

Please explain further
What part?
on the top floor of the library there is a book that says.
If you catch a magicarp eat all of it, pick the bones clean, and release the skeleton into the water and It will return, each and every scale.
Or something like that.
Now that is some ****ed up ****!
Tell me more! (for I don't think I'll ever get to play D/P)
Does any PKMN turn into a ghost?
No but there is a pokemon that is a pain to get called spiritomb... Gotta meet 100 people underground...
...
Gastly, anyone?
I don't think he means that.
It has lots of lore about pokemon explained in D/P
Check out Serebii.net They have a lot of stuff.

One, it's 32 people you have to meet in the Underground. Or you can talk to the same person 32 times. Failing that, just get a friend who already has a Spiritomb and have him/her breed it.
Two, if you have an open spot on your roster and a spare Pokeball, you'll get Shedinja when Nincada evolves into Ninjask.
Yeah.
Or you could cheat but thats no fun.
*eyes HnS* Cheater...
If pokemon don't die, then why is there a cemetery for departed pokemon in Lavender town? And how come the lady mourns over her Growlithe which she asks, "Why did you die?"
I said they die of old age.
And in the Manga they die if you really want to kill them not just battle them.
Doesn't a Charmander die if it's flame goes out?
So I heard, but I think that's rather stupid.
Yeah I guess that only natural means can kill a pokemon not battling.
I wouldn't necessarily call "the Rockets killing Pokemon" as natural causes. That is one of the things they are known to do, after all.
Since when?
I want to know what your talking about.
I know the rockets killed them in Manga but i don't know about the games.
It was certainly said so in the games.
I always read that they were capturing pokemon and using their powers and stuff. I never saw anything about killing them.
Name an instance just one.
I also finished my picture of you.

QuoteGHOSTs appeared in POKEMON TOWER. I think they're the spirits of POKEMON that the ROCKETs killed.
You win. Here is a cookie.
I guess your right I haven't played those in forever. Everything now is all politically correct...
I'm pretty sure it's also stated in FR/LG that the Rockets killed the Marowak in the tower in Lavender (gah, I can't remember the name right now).
You're being sarcastic right? :'(
I think in FR/LG it wasn't directly stated like in R/B/Y
No, I'm not being sarcastic. I'm pretty sure someone in Lavender Town tells you that Team Rocket killed the Marowak in the nearby tower.
I thought you meant you couldn't remember lavender was a town.
I feel stupid :(
Yeah It was mentioned by the old guy Mr fuji it think.
Man, I love pokemon sometimes.
Like, it's a kid's game and all that, and the new games are stupid, but... the manga/older games are actually a lot darker than they let on. I remember reading one of the rockets accidentally slicing it's Arbok into two pieces, and it died.
Actually *Spoiler*
Koga cut Agatha of the Elite fours Arbok in half.
I like all the pokemon games.
Um...yikes! Don't rightly know what to say to that... :-[ Except...that is dark!
Most stuff they bring over from Japan is a lot darker before they Americanize it...
Kirby 64 is a good example of that. Kinda makes you wonder what happened. :/

Americans can't stand violence, you see?
Much darker:
Genocyber
Cyber City Oedo 808
Ghost in the Shell
Darker than Black
Texhnolyze
Serial Experiments Lain
yes, but those aren't childrens games with dark undertones, JQ
That really makes me wonder about Mario... ::)
I thought we were talking about the anime here.
So did I. I was thinking out loud. Sorry!

Then Google Sore Thumbs and read the first few comics. There you will learn the shocking truth about Mario.
I need to get to watching Genocyber. It sounds interesting.
Particularly interesting quote from wiki
QuoteThe Anime is quite violent, like most of the other 1990's cyberpunk anime. It features many of the victims in the OVA with dismembered body parts and excessive killings that include gore and internal dismemberment.
:D
Oh yeah, I forgot Elfen Lied in the list of dark/graphic anime. Me love <3

Yes, he is crying blood, and that is blood on his forewings (or so I have read on the latter).
I have heard that in the original Japanese version of Kirby 64, one of 02's attacks involves shooting blood at you. I believe it was edited in the Americanized version so that it was just sparkles of energy or something. Or it could've been changed to green like in Ocarina of Time when Ganondorf coughed up blood, because green cloud attacks are one of the attacks he does when you attack his cactus-like tail.
Wow. What else is American media not showing us?
Also...Kirby always seemed like the kind of game that looked like part of the gay pride parade...I never took it quite seriously.
