Title: Most epic deaths (or near deaths)
Post by: Uximadesk on February 01, 2009, 03:29:17 PM
So I was in the Well in OoT and I had to encounter all this Gibdos at the same time. I had no magic, so Din's fire was not an option, and I wanted to keep my space between them and me, so I started using my boomerang to fend them off, but eventually they started to close in and I had to fight them with the sword. Of course I died there, but those last seconds were just beautifully epic.

There was also that time in ALttP where I entered a room with wizzrobes in it, and I spent nearly 5 minutes trying to beat them, it was a long fight and my life was reduced to two hearts. In the last second, I was able to shoot the last wizzrobe and open the room.

So if any of you happens to have a Boromir-esque Zelda experience, share it.

I was in MM and I beat Gyorg with 1 second left...

It was pretty epic.

Aw, man, nothing comes to mind.  I'm going to have to start playing me Zelda games and create my own epic deaths.

Too bad this isn't an epic Pokemon Win thread; I have an epic Pokemon Win story.

I had one the other day, actually. I was playing A Link to the Past and was fighting Blind. I think he got me to about two or three hearts with NO POTIONS LEFT. It was a little nerve-racking, but I beat him. ;D

Yesterday I was riding epona around a feild in TP, and it was rainy and dark and kind of hard to see stuff and i was going like full speed and i saw a shiny thing on top of this rocky hill in the distance and I forgot that there was a cliff in front of me and so I almost went off the edge but I stopped epona by pressing back on the nunchuk and I skidded to a stop barely in time and it was freak'n insane... ;D

And also the shiny thing turned out to be a piece of heart when I zoomed in on it with the owl eyes mask thingy after I got off my horse to see how to get to it. ;D

That sucks. also a few days ago i fought ganon on TP And had 1/2 a heart left by the end of the battle. I made the mistake of taking spring water with me into the fight and it turned to normal water before i needed to use it. ;)

A few weeks ago I was battling Volvagia, and I beat him with one heart...
And before that I died I don't know HOW many times.  :P

*rocks back and forth in his rocking chair*
*stares out window*
*takes a puff of his pipe, and looks down at his rusted sword*
Ahhh, yes... I remember this one like it was yesterday... (HACK COUGH COUGH)

I was in the last pit in the cave of ordeals.
My bottles were empty.
My Magic Armor was Magic no more.
I was watching each of the Darknuts waiting for either of them to make a move.
Two of them prepared to bring down their swords in front of me.
I lept to the right!
Followed it up with a roll, and circled around them!
I drew a bomb quickly, and hurled it with all of my might!
BOOM! (HACK COUGH)
All at once, their armor fell off!
Now it was time to put my swordsmandship to the test.
It was a bit of a blur after that- but I came out of the whole ordeal with a mere QUARTER of a heart left, I kid you not.
My cousin Jon was there to witness it...
Just... not in the fight... he was watching from a window in a parallel unniverse far away... on a chouch... with a pizza and a soda...

*has heart attack from the memory*

True story kids >.<

My TV screen burned out while I was starting a session of OoT.

Does that count?  Because I immediately hit Start, B, and A.

Saves the game.  Right before the screen blacked out on me, I had killed a Golden Skultulla.

A "then" or two might have helped, huh? ;)

Anywho.....I haven't played too much Zelda lately, so someone else speak up.

I was playin windwaker yesterday and i paused it, or at least thot i did, and left for a little bit and when i got back i only had 1 heart left, and so i quickly ate a potion and killed all the enemies. that was a close one... ;)
I bet my little brother unpaused it...  >:(
