I scored the following from Craigslist yesterday:
- A front-loading Panasonic 3DO with a controller and 20 games. Supposedly I'll also be getting a top-loading model and a six-button controller at no additional charge if the guy can find them.
- An early model Sega Saturn with two early model controllers and a composite video cable. Supposedly I'll also be getting a copy of "Super Puzzle Fighter II" free if the guy can find the disc to go with the case.
- Two Virtual Boys, each with a copy of "Mario's Tennis." One Virtual Boy is complete; the other one is missing a controller, battery pack, and the thing that goes over your face to block light out. Once again, if he can find them, I'll be getting the missing components free. I also got a wall adapter so I don't have to use batteries.
- A Casio pocket TV with an LCD screen. I just noticed it among the stuff and asked if he was willing to sell it, and he said to just take it.
Grand total: $100.
I feel bad for the guy who was supposed to be looking at the stuff for sale after me, especially if he was interested in the 3DO stuff.
Also, if you don't know what some of that stuff is, Google it.
HOW DO YOU PAY FOR ALL OF THIS STUFF
WHERE DO YOU GET THE MONEY
I give it to him
I get money by doing odd jobs around the house and for birthdays and Christmas. I save up and make absolutely sure I want to buy something before I do so, which eliminates impulse buying. I also shop around to find the very best price on things before I buy them, helping me to save even more cash. Not having to pay any sort of bills helps, too. I very rarely spend this much money on anything, and since there's nothing else I want to buy at the moment (or can at least live without), this'll probably be my last purchase for a while.
Try what I do, Commodore. You'll be better off financially.
THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY WANT
LIKE TWO VIRTUAL BOYS ? ? ?
I never buy junk and I don't have any money..
Actually, yes, Commodore. I've wanted a Virtual Boy for a long time. A 3DO, too. He threw in the Saturn and controllers free, along with the pocket TV, for buying the 3DO and Virtual Boys. I got a pretty good deal.
Sounds good.
I still don't have money...
As soon as you get some, start saving it.
I also recommend checking vending machines, pay phones, and stuff like arcade games for change that's been left behind. I've made some good money this way.
you go dumpster diving don't you
i bet you go dumpster diving
I do.
I don't, actually. My Dad does a small amount, though. You'd be surprised at some of the stuff they throw out. Brand-new work pants, for example, or perfectly good seats.
I also like visiting garage sales. Gotten some good stuff that way. I bought a Palm Pilot for $3 last year!
this is so weird
i can't even wrap my head around this
my east coast liberal ideology has deafened my ears to the plight of the common man
Commodore = head asplosion.
Liberalism is killing America for sure now.
i'm sure rush limbaugh knows how to fix it
LOL!
I just won a bet with myself. I thought, before I even clicked on this thread, "mah boi, this thread is DEFINITELY going to have SOMETHING to do with Twilight Wolf's obsession with Sega Saturn."
Flawless Victory.
I'm that predictable, I know.
Oh, well.
Your mom is as predictable as Tacheon.
you can't predict her.

You know, I might just start dumpster diving.
Just make sure it's legal. I've heard that it's illegal in some places to rifle through people's garbage, heaven knows why.
Sounds like it's off to the library for me. Possibly followed by their dumpster.
But you know, I think there's some element of luck in your purchases.
