Ah, looks like a sequel to Wind Waker.  That is my immediate thought.

I agree. It seems to be the long-expected TWW2.

Man, I love it. This looks like it'll be an awesome game...now I'm so glad my sister got that DS a while back. Though at the moment I'm still more excited about TP at the moment, I'm sure this'll get even better as more info is released.

It's about time something good came out for DS.

Ain't that the truth! I was starting to worry that I wasted my money on it.

What about Mario Kart DS? Or Metroid Prime Hunters? Granted, they're no Zelda, but they are pretty good.

Tsk, tsk... such is the talk from which PSP owners are born...

Anyways, it looks awesome! I can't wait to sail around with my DS. Hopefully it'll have some more depth than Wind Waker, though for a DS game I wouldn't argue against a game of the same length.  ;D

You forgot to mention Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and New Super Mario Bros. :P Anyway, Phantom Hourglass really excites me.

I may not be as excited as with TP, or at least not yet, but I guess the game will be great, and it seems to be very innovative.

It also uses the exact same view as I guessed it would, after it was stated that it would use a different view.

It should take advantage of the wireless play and throw in a 4-swords mini-game like what they did with A Link to the Past GBA.

HEY YALL ITS BEEN A WHILE!!!!!!!!!

anyway, im glad they are coming with a ds zelda game. as for good ds games, metroid prime hunter, mario kart ds, super mario 64 ds, and (yes i know) nintendogs were cool.

Man, it does look cool, but I don't even have a Nintendo DS to play it on. :'(
Still, I wonder how it will stand at the Compendium.

Me too, lol. That's the worst part about playing a new game, I spend the entire first run writing a walkthrough and studying every bit of plot looking for its timeline placement.

You better believe it.

But at least I get something out of it.

And not many webmasters make their own walkthroughs anymore, so that's a point of pride for me.

I prefer the cartoony graphics in most cases.
Title: Re:Phantom Hourglass
Post by: MagmarFire on March 25, 2006, 06:45:06 PM
Why?
I'd prefer serious Zelda games over cartoony Zelda games any day!
Title: Re:Phantom Hourglass
Post by: Shadow Ganon on March 26, 2006, 05:34:26 AM
I don't believe the graphics make too much difference, If you play WW it is alot more serious than you would think. Plus when you mention no good games for DS, I've been playin yoshi touch and go recently, It is brilliant ;D ;D
Title: Re:Phantom Hourglass
Post by: Evilslayer on March 27, 2006, 04:04:45 AM
It's not the graphics that are cartoony, it's the artstyle. TWW and TP has the same graphics because they are both cel-shaded (at least, they are based on the same graphical style). PH, however, is not cel-shaded.

oh fair enough, you gotta rememba though that the DS doesn't have enough technology, it is still bloody good for a handheld though, I mean look at super mario DS ;)

They changed their minds on the graphics a few months after the E3 where they showed the trailer with the cool graphics.

Graphics make no difference to me... they're just graphics... sometimes different graphics work for different games... I don't really care... as long as I can see... Graphics get an A+ from me ^_^

Anywho...

Who ever said there's no good DS games out is wrong <<;;

Castlevania, Nanostray, Mario Kart DS, Advance DS, New Super Mario Bros., and numerous other titles are good, though not Zelda, that doesn't make or break a game...

So yeah...

I've been wanting a Wind Waker sequel for a while now! I'm happy now! ^_^ As long as it expands the sea faring idea... and expands where you can go... no more of that... "You aren't ready" crap... bleh...

I might actually be more excited about PH than TP. I like the fact that it's a mini TWW, especially since the DS can't handle such a massive world. Boating should be fun now... Plus with touch screen control, I think this will provide us with what we need in Zelda.(You will know what I mean soon... a post is coming)

"WW" stands for Wind Waker.
Title: Re:Phantom Hourglass
Post by: Evilslayer on April 13, 2006, 08:16:19 AM
It's supposed to be TWW. Look at the title on the title screen of the game. There's a 'the' there. Besides, just saying WW may make someone think you're talking about something... else. ;)

Hewy! This Phantom Hour glass looks like a great title! My friends and I have been anticipateing a wind waker sequel for a while! Im Not necicerily saying its a sequal, but it has similar desighn, and thats good enough for me. lol! I Like the game play so far too! I wouldnt rank it up with the Ocarina of time, or Wind waker just yet, But I havent played, and Nintendo never siest to amaze me. Keep us up-dated jack!

Does The Minish Cap count as one (considering that It has similar WW graphics)?

Yes, that's why I said three. I didn't include TWW because I was comparing them to it.

first, Phantom Hourglass will be not a TWW sequal... remember, at the beggining Twilight Princess was TWW 2... maybe the sea is still waiting there... 8)

Quotefirst, Phantom Hourglass will be not a TWW sequal... remember, at the beggining Twilight Princess was TWW 2...

How do you know it won't be a sequel? The sea does seem to hint to it. Although, it could be a prequel of sorts. The Link in PH could be one of those young lads mentioned in the TWW prologue.

Yes, TP was known as TWW2, but that was merely to confuse fans. And it's now known it'll take place long before TWW. It may even have no connection at all to TWW.

Maybe, but for me, judging by Hyrule's current geography (the Great Sea, supposedly), I'd say that it is a sequel to TWW.
Title: Re:Phantom Hourglass
Post by: iastreb on April 29, 2006, 07:12:24 AM
ok, i guess... but there's somethings different about Oot Hyrule Map and  TWW Hyrule(under the sea), i dont remember that lake

no, in TWW when you go in Hyrule, under the sea, there's a lake, like lake Hulia, around Hyrule's Castle. a little strange

I think that the "lake" is the moat.

the water flows from the great bay to the water fall @ gerdo valley then to lake hylia then to that place where lord jabu jabu is then to zoras river then 2 hyrule castle then it rotates.

It sounds like a good game, but i dont find it worth the trouble. None the less, even if I dont want to play the game, i HAVE to, because it is my mission to play and beat every Zelda game there is to play and beat. (boy that sounded repeatitive)

Quoteno, in TWW when you go in Hyrule, under the sea, there's a lake, like lake Hulia, around Hyrule's Castle. a little strange

Ever thought it just MAY be in a different location in Hyrule? :P
Title: Re:Phantom Hourglass

how is it possible? its Hyrules Castle, the King of Red Lions told you so...
Title: Re:Phantom Hourglass
Post by: Evilslayer on May 19, 2006, 02:28:49 AM
Doesn't mean it's the same castle as the one in OoT. Remember that hundreds of years pass between OoT and TWW. There's even a theory that it's North Castle, a description it much better fits.

Besides, it's never called Hyrule Castle in TWW. ;)
