Honestly, I believe they're part of the Alchemical array needed to break down substances to their raw form for use in the Grand Arcanum.
(I can't stress enough that I didn't make this, though :P)

That looks sweet! I like the rugged feel of it. You should keep the edges sketchy looking, but give it a finished feel to it. Red and black?
