Title: Am I Too Sensitive? *MAJOR DEATH NOTE SPOILERZ!!!!!*
Post by: HylianHero92 on July 04, 2009, 10:46:46 PM
Today I watched Death Note Episodes 24 through 37 (37 being the last one) and broke into uncontrollable fountian of tears when L died and even more when Light died. Even writing this my eyes are getting watery. :'(
Did anybody else react this way or am I just extremly over-sensitive?

So did I! But I looked everywhere for the next one and nobody had it! Not to mention, where else would they go with Light dead?!

EDIT: Wikipedia says there's only 37

That's actually the sign of a good writer, or so I think, getting your readers (or watchers in this case) to react in such a way to what you write.  I didn't cry, but I was sad when I watched the Fullmetal Alchemist episode where Hughes died, and it really tugged at my heart to see Elicia's reactions to her father's death at his funeral.

Heh, should probably put FMA Spoilers up there in the title as well.

37 and two movies.

I cried so hard when L died it wasn't even funny.  Light's death was less tragic, but it still evoked emotion from me.

Well that's perfectly fine as Light's death was like the death of an insane tyrant and L's death was foreshadowed and unjust. I can't believe I didn't catch this until now, but right before L dies he washes Light's feet, similar to the way Jesus washed Judas' feet...

Haven't seen the anime but have read the manga. For some reason I don't remember feeling anything much when L died, but when light died I was completely on edge.
I wasn't so much upset as I was really tense, I think it is because I was completely convinced he wouldn't die, plus I adored him.

But I cry all the time at sad stuff, lately I've been watching this KDrama by downloading episodes onto my iPod and it makes me so emotional. I've cried , I've laughed and I've even found myself like talking at my tiny iPod screen when something dramatic has happened. I agree with HnS that it is a mark of quality, makes it believable I think.

Well, L was upsetting, but he put himself within range of Kira (albeit without knowing) so it's not that bad. He was in the way, and so he was taken down... it's sad, but I guess it wasn't as bad because I knew it was coming.

On the other hand I was sad when Rem and the butler died. I mean, really?

I cried when Hughes died. Like, not major tears. But the quiet and more dramatic single tear.

I caught it too.
