What is the general opinion on this around here?
For those who don't know, LARP is Live.Action.Role.Playing
It's where you dress up, get foam swords, and fight eachother.
Sorta like a more assertive form of table-top.
I personally have created a few weapons myself, and it is fun, under certian circumstances. I play under Dagorhir rules. Which means, we don't use magic or hit points. If you get hit in the arm you have to put it behind your back ,and if you get hit in the leg you have to get on your knee. If hit in the chest= instant death. Head-shots are illegal.
Me and my friend had a blast playing this, but one of my weapons broke.
Anyone?
Me and my little brother do things like that ALL THE TIME with things like plastic lightsabers and sticks.
We're gonna buy a whole bunch of those pool noodles and cut them to make the weapons for all of Organization XIII. 8D
My friend might LARP with me. If either of us had foam swords. Or plastic lightsabers.
That sounds pretty darn spiffy. ^_^
It sounds cool. I used to play when I was younger, but not much nowadays.
Nah. I do enjoy a good fight though.
I mean actually fighting not watching. ???
Oh wait! I RP in Second Life though. It's not live but it 'aint tabletop either. ;)
It's pretty fun to improvise. For instance, I've been known to use mop handles as swords.
I also have a friend who has bamboo swords.
S.C.A. All the way.
It's much better than just L.A.R.P.-ing. Mainly because you... Aren't considered a total Geek.
No, you're still considered a total geek. We're just higher on the list of geek hierarchy.
There's nothing wrong with being a geek.
Unless you're a homicidal geek. Then yeah, you have a problem.
Or a geek that does Speed to 'help' with your homework.
Yeah, big problem there.
And yes, some people really do take Speed to help with homework.
