Title: has this ever happened to you before?
Post by: jdubroxs on August 21, 2009, 01:20:42 PM
Ok so i bought a school book for one of my classes, which of course comes with a CD right. and when i get the CD out too look at it, it looked as if someone had stepped on it and tried to put the pieces back together and then put it back in the envelope. I dont think ive ever bought something that looked like that at a store or college store before lmao. I had to then drive all the way back up there today and get a new one, one that was actually correct looking.

Most of the time you wouldn't actually need the CD, and if it came with any necessary software, there's a chance you could pirate it easy.

That sort of reminds me of the time I lost my $100+ chemistry book and had to spend about $60 on the online version of the book.  The online version was good, but when I tried using it after the class was over (I can't remember why), I wasn't able to use it.  It seems kind of stupid that I only had limited access to something I paid for.

It's called DRM and you should've used some software to remove said DRM.
