So in an attempt to completely blot out everything Mikaudes and Gamefreak have accomplished, I'm auditioning for a prestigious acting school, the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, tomorrow.
Yeah, so, yeah.
...
They only take 180 kids a year. Chances are slim that I'll make it.
But still. Yeah.
I know you're probably an amazing actor, but man... Try not to make acting your only career goal.
Anyway, good luck.
Break a leg!
One of my friends from high school goes there. He loves it.
Good lucks, man. Show them Disney idiots how it's done!
I believe in you man. Show them who's boss.
Shika, I'm happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Mikaudes had one of the best accomplishments ever!
That said, I'm glad that you're possibly going to be going to one of the premiere schools for acting in this country.
It's a callback from a general audition for several colleges two weeks ago, so hopefully that means I've got a slight edge in the first place.
And JQ, I have backup.

Word. :P
But yes, good luck, man!
SHHHHIIIIIKKKKKAAAAA
you will make it.
I give you my blessing.
He said I had a lot of raw talent, but need polishing, which is exactly what they do. So...I think he hinted pretty strongly that they're going to take me.
sounds promising to me!
Time to sell everything I own and burn all my bridges?

YES. DO IT.
Nah, I dunno... but that definitely sounds promising.
Congratulaions!
I hope you make it, It's awesome that you know what you want to do.
It's not how good you are, it's how good you want to be!

I most seriously need to remember this. Wise words are very wise.
Worked for Paris Hilton.
Anywho...yeah, apparently Pyrgus has a friend that just started going there this year.
This is a true statement.
Small world, isn't it? Maybe you two will meet sometime.
I'm ecstatic. The guy from New York, Charlie, that they hooked me up with for info called me a few minutes ago and said that their admissions guy was pretty positive on me. Said I have the potential to be a good character actor and could really flourish.
And now I leave to get my wisdom teeth pulled. Peace, might not see you for a day or two.
Awesomesauce.
Keep your lips moist after you get your wisdom teeth pulled. When I got mine pulled, the corners of my mouth were especially dried and hurt like Hell unless I applied some chapstick to them.
Ended up not being nearly as bad as everyone made me think it would be.
Is the wisdom teeth that last molar that grows at the very last and supposedly hurts a lot? In Mexico we call it the judgement teeth (or it could be the wisdom as well, because the word would mean either).
By the way, Shika, what's your long term plan when you get in?

They are the last molars, but they don't necessarily hurt. Mine weren't bothering me when they were pulled, but one of them was coming in sideways and had to be removed, and they figured they'd just get all four while they were going in.
Hey, Shika, did you go completely under, or did you just get the local anaesthetic?
You almost always go completely under. It's not fun being awake for such a surgery.
Really? I was given a choice; I chose to go completely under because I didn't feel like being bored.
I dunno, after reading A Mastectomy by Burney, I don't think I'll ever stomach being awake for surgery again.
Why is that?
I didn't go completely under, I just listened to my music while they did their thing. Got kinda boring, but oh well. They didn't even ask if I wanted to be put to sleep. They also didn't pull the front two because they decided they were too far in to get easily. I've been awake pretty much all day and haven't been in pain. It's just a bit irritating to eat, but other than that everything's fine and I don't see what the big deal was.

Acting is a really hard thing to plan out ahead of time...obviously, I hope to get a job doing some show or other. If I'm lucky, I'll get onto SNL. It's not that far from where the college is...
EDIT: As of Wednesday, December 2nd, I've been accepted to NYCDA.
Congrats man! You deserve it!
YAY! I'm really happy for you man =]
I have been talking to some of the other people who will be going there soon; apparently there is a subway station beneath the dorms. Awesome.
Thanks, everyone.
Hey, Pyrgus, what's the name of the guy you know who goes there? I should add him on Facebook and encourage a harassment lawsuit.
Haha =]
Let me ask him if it is okay first. ^_^
Just make sure you remind me about it =]
A subway station, you say? I hope it doesn't get too loud for ya. :P
It's not as bad as a train station. Besides, I kinda like subways, had to get used to them in Britain over the summer. It's actually a 1920's hotel that we're staying in, too. Doesn't operate as a hotel anymore, obviously, but it's got a lot of history. Part of the Godfather was filmed there.
Sweet! So how much does the school cost?
Around $26,000
Geez! >.<
You have enough?
Well, we have to put $1500 down to secure the spot and everything, and the rest...well, scholarships I hope. If all else fails, saying I'm gay can get me around $10,000 overall.
