Title: MAGZ LOOK AT THIS (And whoever's interested)
Post by: Uximadesk on November 03, 2009, 08:15:41 PM
Ever heard of the new ShiVa engine? It's a new 3D environment engine which I learned about in that internship I told you about.
So far, I have been learning simple things about it, such as how to control camera movement and virtualize 3D shapes.
It's free for download, however, you need a Gama Ray burst to open it.

I'm pretty sure that, with some training, and with Magz's skills, you can pretty easiy make a basic game.
If you're interested, you con look it up on google, but I would have to give you the GRB to install it.

Why not just put the Gamma Ray Burst on bittorrent? Share the love man.

How does one do that?

If it's a program you have to purchase, it's illegal. Don't discuss uploading it to torrents and the like here.

Nah, it's probably just something only a select few can work with because access hasn't been given to the wide stream.

Isn't it technically piracy if he's offering to give it away though?

If it's not freeware, then it's most likely illegal. I don't know all the ins-and-outs of copyright law, but it'd be best to err on the side of caution. We wouldn't want this site getting in trouble.

Haha, we're not :P They only go after people actively distributing this stuff.

Oh, then I might as well drop the topic in question, however, if you are willing to buy it I guarantee it will be worth it

The ShiVa engine, eh...? I wonder if my team will consider it for our next game jam. It would be cool. ;D

I am a member of a game design club at my college, so...I guess you could say that, even though we split into small groups to work on multiple games. But my last group's members were AWESOME, and I want to work with them again. :D

It's true.
If you're stealing songs or movies online, and you're caught, the worst you can get is a slap on the wrist.
They'll trace it back to whoever uploaded it and distributed it though, and he or she will get in some huge trouble.
So basically, it's okay to steal, as long as you're not distributing it as well... Laws are weird  ???
