2009 has been a pretty good year for gaming. Here, you can give your thoughts and input on some of the best games of 09.
Having only a PS3 and a PSP, I don't know much about what's going on with Nintendo or Microsoft, but the games I feel obliged to mention are:
Playstation 3:
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Infamous
Uncharted 2
PSP
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
LittleBigPlanet PSP
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. 'Nuff said.

I challenge that with The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
*wins*
I haven't played it, though, so I don't have anything to say about it. (Speaking of which, I'm not sure if you've played 358/2 Days yourself, so... ;) )
I'd really love to play it, however. I just don't have the money! DX
Guys, guys. Best game of '09? Let's be serious here.
Modern Warfare 2. ???
I have a large list, however: Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Dead Space: Extraction, Scribblenauts (so cute!), and of course, Spirit Tracks.
Uncharted 2, hands-down. Freakin' awesome game.
Ah man I totally forgot about Uncharted 2!
That game is gonna be such a great sequel to the first.. not to mention the new R&C. Looks like a winner.
Can I propose a challenge?
How about we try to think things that
aren't on everybody else's lists already?
I understand they games were great, but everyone is ignoring games (such as Lostwinds 2) that doesn't get any credit for being utterly awesome. =0
I mean, if anybody wanted to see what the "best" game of the year was anybody could just go to any video game blog that reported the VGA's. ???
We should try to find those outstanding-yet-undiscovered games.

You really should. It's really tough at points (in a good way) and driving the train can be a ...
blast

I never see myself doing such a thing.... ::)
Mustang, I only played three games that were released this year: Killzone 2, Fat Princess, and Uncharted 2. Killzone 2 bored the hell out of me and the friends who pressured me into buying it never played with me; Fat Princess is all right but I thought it could use a lot of improvement. Uncharted 2, however, was absolutely fantastic in many regards and also highly addicting, so my choice for Game of the Year was rather obvious. (Most of the games I bought and played this year were from 2008, for those of you wondering.)
I can name one, even though it hasn't been released in English yet, though I've played the demo and I'm a big fan of the series.
Nintendo DS:
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth

I was simply playing around with you Mags. I'm sure KH is great.

I know but...
crap.
How do I say this without being mean? ???
errr...
well...
We've established Uncharted 2 is a great game. But the thing that bugs me is it overshadows everything else. ???

Yes they did! ;D
I just played the last portion of the Tower of Spirits yesterday (the last floor was near-impossible :-X) and beat the game today. I know you don't want any of it spoiled, but I will say the end was quite epic. Not in terms of story, but how the story was played out. I'm sure you'll know what I mean once you get there. ;)
Has anyone heard of Dead Space: Extraction? Or even Dead Space at all? Great game. Fantastic story with nice gameplay. The prequel is coming out soon!

Yes, I was actually considering buying it. (although I'm sure how well I'd fare with a horror game...)

I'm sorry. :( *hugs*
But make it more obvious next time! :P

Fantastic game. Engaging story with some sick twists to send your mind reeling. You'd love it.
i love spirit tracks so much!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, for the Wii, only one game: CoD: Modern Warfare. It's old, should've been released long ago with the other versions, but finally, a port-over that doesn't suck.

Now that I have my mitts on it, I can agree.
Spirit Tracks comes in second for me.
And those are the only two games from 2009 I've played so far.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is.... good. I don't know if it's the best game I've played all year (especially because I haven't played very many new games this year) but it is certainly interesting.
Spirit Tracks is really good, though.
I dunno guys. Uncharted 2 i kinda wowing me every time I turn it on. It's amazing. And the graphics rock. It's like a movie!
