Title: Santa Observation Base 386
Post by: DW on December 24, 2009, 10:21:53 PM
Alright, gentlemen. NORAD says Santa's coming. I'm keeping my eyes open, hopefully I'll be able to blast the sucker down and take all his goodies this time around. Last night, while he was making a practice run, I managed to score a hit on the side of his sleigh, and he dropped some valuables. Namely a fairly nice dress shirt, an Air Hogs helicopter that I promptly flew into the ceiling fan five minutes after opening, and The Producers which is quite possibly the best movie I've seen in a long time. He also dropped a Collective Soul live DVD of their concert with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra in 2006, which I've watched three times in 36 hours and still can't get enough of. He also dropped a nice German harmonica (in the key of G) that seemed to have been taken from my girlfriend, the cad.

What about the rest of us here at S.O.B. 386? You manage to score anything yet?

I already mentioned I got a fedora, and trenchcoat is an I.O.U. thing because they need to get one my size.

Movies: Giant, The Manchurian Candidate, The Last Emperor, Bonnie and Clyde

Others: A book with every Shakespeare play, an awesome new alarm clock to replace my old piece of crap, a bunch of cool shirts, and a new watch (I'll probably break it soon).

a pretty shirt
2nd Glee soundtrack (stolen by a friend before i got to listen to it >:{  )

I got the smuggler with a sidewinder this morning; hit paydirt. Here's a summary:

Three pairs of pajama pants
A plain white teeshirt
Two pairs of jeans
Spirit Tracks
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection
Six pairs of socks
A pack of underwear

Spirit Tracks was the first one I got, and I was completely satisfied. And then I got a dress shirt.

There are bound to be more, but really, Spirit Tracks was all that I really wanted. :P

I got the following:

A myriad of cash (guess what I'm spwending it on?)
Spirit Tracks (so excited)
Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Metroid Prime Trilogy

It was a good load.

My sister got Bowser's Inside Story, played it for an hour using a walkthrough and hasn't played since. It feels like such a waste.

I'm a diehard fan of the Mario and Luigi series. I had to get it.

Some of the things I got were:

Call of Duty:  Modern Warfare
Spirit Tracks  (I guess I have to hurry up and beat Phantom Hourglass before I can play it though)
A few movies (Righteous Kill, The Hangover, and I can't remember the other one)
Cloths

Spirit Tracks (seems like everyone's getting it), Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (crud, that Zip Slasher is pissing me off), both of the guides for it (have only looked at the characters' sections so far); a fantasy book called "Rhapsody," by Elizabeth Haydon, which I thought sounded interesting, and I generally trust my judgement in these things, along with a humorous book called "F U, Penguin," by Matthew Gasteier, which shows penguins and other cute animals what's what; a set of Irish music CDs that I have yet to listen to; a pair of pants; and a chocolate orange, which I, oddly, haven't eaten yet.

I got an XBawkz and a warranty for it.
No games. Don't know what they expected me to do with it  :P

My friend Sean lent me Dragon Age Origins, and let me just say, it is everything I thought it would be and more!
This game is the shizwiz. I can't get away from it, even for like an hour. Actually... ::)
Imma go play it right now!

Cheers!

Santa and I weren't particularly seeing eye-to-eye this year (something about setting someone's puppy on fire?) so I didn't get much. (and honestly I was only expecting Spirit Tracks)

Spirit Tracks (I bought it for myself and addressed it from Santa, that doesn't really count, does it?)
Seasons 1-5 of Supernatural

From other people, though:
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
A Stuffed Platypus
Movie!Nightcrawler Bobblehead
Musically: The Dear Hunter - Act I: The Lake South and The River North; Portugal. The Man - Satanic Satanist; The Mars Volta - Octohedronl; Mr. Scruff - Ninja Tuna; The Beatles - Abbey Road
Hoothoot/Noctowl PKMN Center charms
Hoothoot gold clip

My cat Lunchbox also got a catbed and kitty treats and has been sleeping and gorging herself since then. Fatty.

Well, of course. ;D ...And I'm telling you, the fortune teller in that game is SO FREAKING PSYCHIC! O_O;

(By the way, the Zip Slasher is supposed to kick your butt at that point. You're not expected to beat it yet. XD )

Care to explain why not?  Because with Marluxia attacking and focusing on support magic and keeping a close watch on its attack pattern and blocking or dodge rolling, I finally managed to beat it.

After, like, the 15th try or so.

Teehee.  Fisk has a cat named Lunchbox.

When the information bar says, "Caution! A powerful enemy is near!" it's not kidding. :P

I myself didn't even bother trying to beat it until I was far enough into the game where my stats were buffed enough to bypass its beastly defense and HP.

Or you can just attack, run like a school girl and let your partner use one of there items on you (I guess they never run out, at least for me), and go back and attack some more

Oh and I just got money for Ikkicon, so I'm pretty happy about my Christmas present... XD

Why, yes it is! However, with TF2, my computer is really laggy, even though every video option is set to lowest possible....

Don't worry, you're not alone. That's why I'm saving for a nice gaming PC.

Have you tried running the game in DX8.1? That might boost your performance a good deal. I can tell you how to change it if you need.

Message regarding DX8.1 sent.
And can you believe it? That Jango Fett I got was the only one my Dad could find online that was still in it's box!

I got Shadow Dragon...last night? Two nights ago? A day and a half ago? Who knows? But I got it. And it's cool. :D

...I wish there were Support Conversations, though... I know it's a remake of a game that didn't have them, but still... :'(
