This has been bothering me for a while. People keep predicting about the end of the world, and my question about it is this: Why is it so important to know about?
1. Okay, so a few ancient calenders end in the year 2012. Maybe they just need to be renewed!
2. Everything has to end at some point in time. But this seems waaay too soon.
3. Where's the actual proof? If it's the ice caps melting, it's something that has been going on since the ice age? What do you think happened to all that ice? It melted, and is still in the process of melting after all this time. Sure, a good amount of land will be flooded, but it's nothing we can avoid. Oh well.
4. If the world goes away in a cataclysmic event of destructive proportions, at least it goes with a bang.
5. If the world really does end, we're wasting our time predicting it, because IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD. There's no way to survive that, so why are we predicting it? As a heads up? "Hey, yer gonna die in a few yers, just to letcha know." "Hey, thanks!" 8)
6. The most likely thing I can think of that will end the world in 2012 is Nuclear war. So, lets try better negotiating to prevent that, could we?
I can say to not look to the film 2012 for a projection of what will happen. :P
The calenders only end at 2012, they don't say the world will end that year. It is only the end of a cycle, not a world.

Exactly. But then there are those so-called prophets who believe it to be an omen!

Does that help at all?
Either way, no one knows when the world is gonna end, or at least we're not supposed to...
Unless this is a big master plan to make us think that it's not really 2012 when it really is. o_o
lol i dont believe in these lies because i am a catholic...god will choose when to end our human race :)
