[please note that all of this is just rumour; it may not be true, so take this with a grain of salt~]
Zelda Wii Rumours (http://www.zeldainformer.com/2010/01/new-zelda-wii-information-leaked.php#more).
Here are the key points being discussed:
* The game will be vary from the dungeon field dungeon method we are accustomed too (nothing new, Eiji Aonuma confirmed that last year).
* You will be able to select right or left handed at the start, and Link will be left or right handed based on your selection
* The gameplay and basic mechanics are complete.
* They are currently polishing up the story and Characters.
* One of the characters they are working on is a innkeeper in Link's home village who has a son that looks up to Link.
* The girl in the art is not the Master Sword, and it appears the Master Sword will not be in the game.
* The girls name from the painting could possibly be Adelle, Adella, or Aderu.
* She is not with you throughout the game like Ezlo and Midna.
* The face in the painting of her is not her real face. It's not fully elaborated on much, but it does say that it was a place holder concept art piece.(assuming the entire art itself was just concept work)
* Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities. Adelle (or whatever her final name becomes) communicates with you through this sword.
*
* There will be horseback combat. Epona will avoid obstacles automatically.
* The models for 3 significant characters in the game have been touched up, but no they are not Zelda or Ganondorf. (Google translate gives rough names of Link, Gorons, and Epona, but our translator said it's not specifically mentioned)
* The idea of this version of Link also being The Hero of Time has been highly considered, and may already be implemented.
* Time travel plays a role in the game.
* The game takes place in more than just Hyrule, and may possibly not be Hyrule at all.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Personally, I may weep a bit of it does turn out to be a MM sequel, but a lot of these seem pretty awesome otherwise. I do like the prospect of choosing to be left or right handed! (as I was one of the lefties who felt a little sad at right handed TP link)
Now THAT is straight up awesome.
Now I'm excited about the new game all over again.
I really hope these rumors are correct- of course, judging by 2Chan's track record, I'm more hopeful than ever.
If it's an MM sequel, I refuse to play it.
If it's an MM remake, we'll see.

We're not friends anymore :P
jk jk
But seriously, this is possibly completing the epic trilogy!!
Ocarina of Time: LOVED IT. I've beat it well over ten times, and I'd play it again too.
Majora's Mask, Sequel of OoT: FAVORITE ZELDA GAME EVER PERIOD. I've only beaten it 100% one time, but but I've played until the end credits probably five times or more.
[INSERT TITLE HERE] Sequel to MM: If they screw this one up, I'll seriously make a facebook, just so I can start a new group to help me tear down the foundation of Nintendo. Path to heaven my foot. Shigeru Miyamoto (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoYWdHe4tQ4) will hear from me if this one get's botched.

You like strictly familiar territory, then? :P

I just might do that myself.
Quote* The game takes place in more than just Hyrule, and may possibly not be Hyrule at all.
I certainly hope so.
Quote* Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities.
If it includes an ability to dual wield swords or other (feasible) weapons, I'm definitely sold.
Every game needs dual wielding. Rule of Cool demands it.
Okay so like,
if it really is and MM sequel, I'm gonna be like the happiest person in the world.
I'm gonna cry tears of happiness. :P
Crap this is gonna be hard. D:
It's so hard not to spam right now lol

Or maybe it will be the first non-2D Zelda to have a sword that shoots a beam when your hearts are full.
They also need to have the Pegasus Boots in a 3D game.

OH, GOSH, THIS.
...Except the Sword Beam's already been in a 3D
Zelda game, and it kind of made it broken. XD Yeah, hearts weren't a factor, but still. XD
Phantom Hourglass? I dunno if that was truly 3D, though. Sure, it's in the same style as The Wind Waker, but it's the classic top-down view, so I think the proper term is 2.5-D.
Correct. It's rendered in 3D, but has a mostly 2D plane.

It's not that, it's just that I think MM was the PPPPPPPPPERFECT Zelda game, and doing ANYTHING to it would be ruining it.
Oh. Then I don't understand, because remaking it means it would be changing. A sequel wouldn't change the original.
Unless they did a retcon, but that's been so commonplace for the timeline that it's rather ignorable.
I don't care what anyone else says, It sounds amazing and I will love them forever if it is as it states. I need a new plaing field for zelda and I can upgrade my sword! just think of how diffrent swords can add to the puzzle effect of Zelda. That with a new layout that I'm not use to OMG I wouldn't stop playing for hours.
