Title: Should I split the Gamecube & Wii Zelda board?
Post by: Gamefreak on June 16, 2010, 07:50:18 AM
I was thinking, with the announcement of Skyward Sword, there's two Zelda games now on the Wii, and with the board putting Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword together, it feels a bit cramped.

So, should I split the board into a Wind Waker board and a Wii board?

Um, there's already a Wind Waker board.  It's a few boards above the Gamecube/Wii board.

I say we split all games into the medium they are played on.

Argh!  Then why is there a Gamecube & Wii Zelda board?

2D board (LOZ, AOL, LTTP, LA, Oracles, FS/FSA, MC)

3D board (OOT, MM, WW, TW)

Both (PH, that one I can't remember the name of...)

Done.

I think the Zelda boards are fine the way they are.  No need to give yourself unnecessary work, right?

Sounds a little extraneous to me. It's probably fine the way it is.

I don't see a need to split these things, Skyward Sword can be discussed in the Future Zelda section until such a time as it is released and the discussions can move to Gamecube/Wii Zelda.

Right, which brings me to my new point.

Why is called the Gamecube and Wii Zelda board if Wind Waker and Four Swords Adventures already have their own boards?

Why did we even make it anyway?

We could just rename the Gamecube/Wii Zelda board the Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword board.

I would actually recommend splitting the Gamecube/Wii Zelda board and merging the Gamecube board with FS:A.  We can just count TP as part of the Wii board.

I don't see what is so hard about

SNES/NES Zelda games
GameBoy Zelda games (includes GB GBC GBA GBDS GB3DS)
N64 Zelda games
GameCube Zelda games
Wii Zelda games

I mean, if you really wanted, each game could have it's own sub board or something.

Great minds think alike, ZV; that's how I would design my Zelda boards if I started up a forum.

The mediums have changed over the years - pretty soon all the games will be played on the same game consule, 2D and 3D alike.

All because, say, Ocarina of Time is on the Virtual Console doesn't mean that it's no longer an N64 game. I think they're keeping the original platforms in mind.

When that day comes the boards will change.  It's silly to put all our eggs in one basket (or all our games in one board) before then.

Don't forget, we already have a General Zelda board.

I think that's for the general Zelda franchise rather than individual games, HNS.

If we put all the games in one board, though, it's more or less the same thing.  The forum would be better organized if we kept the games as separate as possible.

I say just stick with the original platform it was on... Most people think of OoT as for the 64 either way... Plus they stated that it was going to be remade for the 3DS but still will just be a copy

A page for every individual game or a page for every visual style - that's how I see it.

We should have a page for each character.

Either Whocares gets our point, or it flew over his head.

I think the general consensus here is to keep the Zelda boards as they are for now.
