Let's face facts:
-More than 4 people are never on at the same time
-We don't have as many users as we did before; All the REALLY lively ones have grown up and moved on, or have been banned...
-Sometimes, I feel like Shoe and I are the only ones ever on, and the Zelda games are never discussed anymore.
Is the end near? It sure feels like it.

To be fair about the Zelda discussion, the games have been out for a long time now, and it can get rather boring if we start talking in circles about the games. That's why we have boards that aren't dedicated to the Zelda games; so we can have something to talk about between releases, when we'll have a swell of Zelda discussion.
I agree with the testament that new blood is needed to keep this site living and that the site is suffocating. However, it seems that a lot of us are too busy to go ahead with telling other people and adding more content to the site, which is understandable, surely. Plus, it won't be easy, as there's a lot of work that needs done. The game guides need updating, the Compendium could also probably use updating, and new additions should be implemented.
I'm not saying it can't be done and that it won't be done, but frankly, we've yet to see a collective effort to get back on track.
I'm willing to help with what little I can. I'd hate to see this place disappear.
I have a small idea of an approach for a rally, but I'm gonna wait a while before executing it. We'll just have to see if people are willing.

Reasons I have neglected or failed to be on TDC:
1. College (unlikely)
2. New game, Zelda or otherwise (likely)
3. Internet problems (unlikely)
4. Depression (unlikely)
5. Just plain busy with other stuff (likely)
Through all of it, I try to be on as much as possible, but stuff happens.
I dunno guys, I've been a member (active or not) on this site for a few years now. And honestly, even when I joined, there weren't THAT many other active members. I mean, all the members I remember from back in the day are the ones that are here now. There's a steady flow of posts, so this place is definitely still alive. Truth be told, I didn't come here for anything Zelda-related in the first place. >.> I'm here for, like... The lulz, if you will. I didn't look at the compendium or walkthroughs until months after joining. ^-^" But that doesn't mean this place is dying. I'd actually hate this place if there were hundreds of members. Since there are a dozen or two I know and love, that makes his place much more interesting. :3 TDC isn't going to dye, you're not getting rid of me THAT easily. ;D

Unfortunately, I think a lot of the members simply got too busy with IRL stuff like school to be able to spend time here. Others just... disappeared, and some left outright. In fact, Havoc, I think you, HNS, and I are the only Darknut members left now. Everyone else is gone. ;-;
But... man, the glory days of 2007-2008. I wouldn't trade those for anything.
However, I am currently trying to get a guy I know to register here because he's gonna be doing an awesome-sounding Zelda project in the near future and I thought you guys would be interested in it. Maybe bring some life back to the boards. But he hasn't done it yet.

HNS had that Legend of Blah Blah, and not to sound like a suck up, but I would follow that every time a new one was uploaded.
We could use an up-to-date caption game. That alone got me into this website.
Yes, the game guides NEED to be updated! For heaven's sake, we still have the Twilight Princess thing on the front page still, and that game has been out for around six years now!!! Other games have arrived in that time, we could use some advertising for THOSE!!

After looking around a bit, it isn't "dead", it is still lively from time to time, but only on rare occasions. It could be at that point before death where it just has no soul.

I never gave up on TDC's longevity- I just thought it would be slow for a while.
I never for a second thought that TDC was dying or dead. All sites, especially game- or genre-specific sites, go through periodic lulls of activity. With larger sites like ZU, that lull seems less brutal because there are just so many members that there's always at least SOMEONE on, but there have been days where I have literally been the only person online all day. (not recently, but years ago :P)
With TDC, we have less members. You'd see that we have pretty much the same returning/active member ratio as ZU, it just seems like less because we have less members total.
True that. Activity will pick back up when school lets out for the summer anyway.
