Sometimes, I see ads in magazines like Nintendo Power having them.
Groth Ocarina of something like that has them. Their ads appear on TDC's main page once in a while.
I also heard Groth Music has good Zelda style ocarinas. I'm going to start saving up for one once I get a job.

If your band teacher does allow it, it would be for a solo. I don't think there are many songs written for the ocarina. But if you know how to convert keys from a piano to other instruments, you're set.
