Title: Sword Art Online
Post by: MagmarFire on December 01, 2012, 11:11:45 PM
I might have a new anime in my top three favorites, guys. Gurren Lagann's still on top, but...dang. This anime freaking rules. Extremely clever and thought-provoking plot, believable characters, well-done romance when you think about the fridge horror and empathize, game terms thrown around, and so much more.

WATCH IT. You can find it on Hulu for free. WATCH IT.

And then return here to continue gushing about it. ...But of course, be judicious about spoilers. That is, don't spoil it. Meaning, don't spoil me, because I'm not done with it yet.

SO DON'T DO IT. BUT STILL WATCH IT. NAOUGWH!!!

I've been watching it faithfully for months. I really don't like anime much, but this show is amazing.

Watched the first episode. I wasn't that impressed... but I am interested enough to continue on to the second episode. :)

You should've told us about it earlier, then, man! Also, fix'd.

...And it looks like there's going to be a game of it! Published by Namco, no less. You know what that means?

We're most likely not going to get it over here!

Excellent... What episode are you on, ZV?

Why should I watch this?

Er...it's not steampunk?

But seriously, there's something psychologically challenging about it toward the beginning. And, well...just watch the first few episodes, Tach, and see what you think. It must be seen to be believed.

The Sword Dance of White and Black. Kirito sounds like Link in the beginning... and he's fighting a Lizafos... =P

Yeah, the first episode wasn't THAT good to me, but it was well done. After the first few episodes though, it gets really engaging. Tacheon, you should watch it because it's not that long and is honestly one of the better love stories I've seen in a long time.

I'm...gonna have to see the beginning of that again, then.

*watches* Not bad. o.o Now, imagine if Nobuyuki Hiyama actually voiced Kirito. Then we'd see many more Link moments. ;D

With Skyward Sword being up there, too, right? :D

Per Mags' endless deluge of commands and threats request, I took some time to watch the first episode Saturday. And then I watched another. And another. And another...

Yeah, I watched all the episodes that Hulu's got. And I wantz moar nao.

Really fascinating stuff, IMHO. I always love a good storyworld, and this + the conditions of everyone's existence in said storyworld make for a stellar experience. Good call, a The Mags. The missiles aimed at your left big toe* have been returned to Standby Mode for the time being.

*I place high value on accuracy.

It's getting near the end of the series...just two episodes left I think.

Assuming they don't do other things with it. From what I've heard, there's even more than that in the light novels.

According to my coworker, there's actually a sequel to the entire anime called Accel World. It was apparently released at the same time that SAO was. Haven't looked into it at all.
edit: Also, according to Wikipedia we're only halfway through the series.
There are four arcs:

1. Sword Art Online
2. Alfheim Online
3. Gun Gale Online
4. UnderWorld

Right, but I heard they were only going to the end of Alfheim. Which I'm okay with, since that's a really good place to end and I'd rather not have SAO drag on and get bad...

At the same time, though, I'm also quite curious as to what the other two arcs involve, and I'm kinda not in the mood to read it from the light novel right now. :P Still, maybe it'll have to come to that.
