Title: Heroes
Post by: iastreb on May 25, 2006, 09:42:28 AM
In OoT, Link was the hero of time... in WW, Link was the hero of winds... and in TP, what do you think, the hero of what?

Twilight Hero ???
Title: Re:Heroes
Post by: Hi no Seijin on May 25, 2006, 01:32:26 PM
The Hero of the Celts. ;D

Really, though, it would be cool if he was called the Wolf Hero.

Start crushing.  TP takes place before TWW.  Odds are, Medli isn't in TP.

He he, the Hero of Crushing.  That's an odd name. ;D

Title: Re:Heroes

I would be the Hero of Darkness, but fire tends to give off light. ;D

I would now like to seriously propose the Hero of the Celts as a title for Link.
Title: Re:Heroes

I want to be Hero of Death Mountain. I love the Gorons and Dodongo's Cavern, Goron City is wonderful, and the Fire Temple if kinda fun. Also, the mountain path is awesome. If I'm hero of Death Mountain, then my dream will be fulfilled.

It says that the Hero of Time did not appear. The Flood, according to the prologue, took place several generations after OoT. Therefore, it's logical that the Hero of Time already is dead.

And besides that, we don't even know if TP is about the Flood.

Getting back on topic, I saw your pic, Ganon, and that could just be Link floating in a river.  It might not be the flood.  For all we know, that could be how the game starts.

Title: Re:Heroes

I think that's how it starts. After all, most of the Zelda games start with Link already asleep (e.g. ALttP, OoT, WW, LA).

QuoteI don't think he's gonna be the hero of anything, Link will die or disappear as told in TWW prologue, his name will be forgotten.

That won't happen because:

1. It's the most beautiful game Nintendo has ever made, not the saddest.
2. I can bet you anything that it will have a sequel.
3. The prologue only says that the Hero of Time didn't appear. TP Link is NOT the Hero of Time.
4. TP Link is on a picture in TWW, so he's NOT forgotten.

Post by: Hi no Seijin on June 12, 2006, 10:51:31 AM
Be careful not to jump to conclusions.  Do you have proof that Ganon isn't the main villian in TP?  Also, over time, legends change and some things can be forgotten.  This might be the case with TP.

I remember that the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776, but I can't remember what I ate for breakfast a week ago.  It is perfectly feasible for a whole nation to remember one legend and not another.  Also, maybe they do remember both, but only one was significant for the game.  Nintendo can't put every little thing into a game; there's not enough room.  Hyrule is a thriving nation and should have thousands, if not millions, of people.   Yet, in OoT we only see a relative handful of the Hylians and the other races.  And Hyrule Field is obviously large, if it takes you one in-game day to cross it, but it only takes a minute or two in real life.  Where is Nintendo going to put all of this and still have enough room for the actual game?  Only in there and other's imaginations.

That would be a good story, but they would have to make another game to explain how the Triforce was split again.

I suppose that they would have to say that the Hero of Time reincarnated or something in order to keep what TKORL said to Link true. I don't really see how (yet, that is) the Triforce of Courage split into eight and reform if no one's done anything about it within a few decades later.

In TWW the King of Red Lions said that the Hero lost the element that made him a hero, yes, but not that it was split up. If you look into it, you may realize that the Triforce of Courage CAN'T have been split into eight pieces before AFTER the Flood.

QuoteWait, what? He is? Where do you find this picture, Evilslayer? I've never noticed it, and I've beaten TWW multiple times.

In the prologue, and in Tetra's cabin.

QuoteA game can be beautiful and sad at the same time.

Not if the only main character dies. :-*

QuoteAnd what if the pic is the Hero of Time?
Anyway apparently Ganon isnt the main enemy in TP so that is why TP Link isnt mentioned. 'Cos it said nobody stopped Ganon but TP Link stopped something else

The pic is not the Hero of Time because he has TP Link's hair.

And it said the Hero of Time didn't stop Ganon, not that no one did. Remember what the King said? The gods sealed Ganon in Hyrule. What if a Link summoned the gods?

QuoteAnd Hyrule Field is obviously large

Not only that, but in real life there would be roads, farms, villages, etc. all the way from the Kokiri Forest to the Gerudo Desert, and from Death Mountain to Lake Hylia.

But isn't it talking about The Hero of Time in the prologue when it shows that picture, And since it is an old-style tapestry thing with a horse with curvy legs there is a chnce it is the hero of Times hair.
But I am probably wrong, I didnt exactly look too closely.

It's a very old screenshot, but it's one of my favourites. I've always wondered who that yellow giant is, and what his role is. Even now, a few months before the release, it remains a mystery.

For some reason, that giant reminds me of an Ent. Perhaps it's a member of a totally different race? :-\

It doesn't look like Link is fighting it, but it's hard to tell.

Nintendo said Link the Hero of Beasts

Well, the Hero of beasts makes sense, but it would also be a darn shame if he dies. Because the end of one could mean the end of the era's.  :'( :'( :'( :'( If you know what I mean, this could be the last event in the timeline if he dies, meaning the PH occurs before, and it could also be the reason that Japan started out with a Tingle RPG. :'( :-*

Except that TP happens before TWW, and PH happens after TWW, making TP happen before PH.  TP is not going to be the last event.  And I believe that in TWW (Spoilers!) you find out that Link is not descended from the Hero of Time.

That's just a momentarily belief until Link gets the Triforce of Courage and it enters his hand (not something the King of Red Lions expected). Remember that he says that he has no connection to the Hero of Time, which is complete BS. :-*

He wouldn't have been the Hero if he hadn't been of the line of the knight.

Gotcha.  Remember, I haven't had a chance to play TWW yet.
