Can anyone remember characters from HA1? I need some NPCs' names so I can have them reappear in HA2.
Do you mean the characters or NPC's?
Basically, do you want people like Bagu, or people like Shiva?
Like Bagu, Huron the Rito, etc.
Ah, OK. Ummm... let me think:
I don't remember names, but there was the guy that owned the arena, his wife, and the general in the courtyard.
I do remember Anju though... ;D
Colonel Hellinious, mid aged Zoran bar tender, Ruto mayor, Goron Merchant, Moblin Chieftain... I will think of more later.
Edit: Lord Bennington Hylos III was the hunter/arena owner's name.
There weren't too many more NPC's, right?... at least, besides the ones we created as time went on ^^. Plenty of those.
There's always Horsehead. There were plenty of random REF soldiers around in the crossings and things... and that one woman with the poison daggers who stabbed Bagu. Plus the nameless priests of Din, Farore, and Nayru, but that doesn't help any, hehe.
Oh, and if it's not necessarily names but just characters that you need, a lot of the shopkeepers (like the ones Wyndisis mentioned) were memorable. Particularly the fat fairy of the Skull and Crossbones, for one. North Castle Quartermaster (who we actually had a pic of in the old days XD). Assorted quest items shopkeeper. Etc? Can't think of any more...
Next point is who is planning to reuse their characters in HA2? I am probably going to use Rugger and Rhunim among others in NPC/backstory references. I would like to have a lot of inside "jokes" linking HA2 to HA1.
Oh, and I'll be keeping certain special locations built by players in HA2. For example: Wyndisis' Lighthouse, the Dent Family Farm, the Windmill on the road to Ruto Town, and some other places if I can think of them.
That sounds like it could be interesting.
I know I'm not, so you can do something with Shiva if you want.
For a building you might keep, Jack's Clock and Cucco inn from Bagu's forest was a pretty popular place of gathering. I can't really think of any other important places we created.
QuoteI can't really think of any other important places we created.
True, the Rising Pheonix (a.k. by other names which I don't remember) was kind of... obliterated. I'm guessing that all the player-owned houses would be done away with, since they weren't all that popular as time went on?
You're free to stick the rambling croissant man somewhere, if applicable. Probably (one of?) the only NPC's that I created that really 'posted' more than once. :D
Oh, another that popped into my head was the "Swimming Pool." It wasn't too long lived though... and I wasn't really following the talk in that thread, either. But it seemed pretty active for a good while. Just another possibility for death-mountain-related oasises.
I want to reuse Wyndisis, but he will be sort of an NPC controlled by me. He is getting to an important point in his story, so I can't lose him. If it is alright, I would like to have an account for my new character and another for Wyndisis.
My new guy will have been trained(A little) by Marin, then Marin is killed beforre this game.

After giving it a little thought, I'm 90% sure that I won't be using young-boy-cleric-Korind for Hyrule 2. Then uncertainty in it is mostly that the final subclasses talents haven't been finalized yet, and who knows? Maybe the healer position will be too tempting (I've always had a soft spot [more like a huge love] for support characters), or maybe it'll just feel like we
need someone to be dedicated to healing, and no one's picking the cleric way. In that case I might reuse Korind--why make a whole new character who'll do the same job? He/she'd turn out similar to Korind in the end, anyway (unless maybe she was a 68 year old or summat, that might be different). There's a slight chance a somewhat older Korind would emerge with a different class altogether, but I'm not that much in favor of the "Yuna Effect" (thanks to whoever made that up...), in which Yuna appears with zero skills whatsoever in FFX-2 (the sequel to FFX), if you guys know what I mean.
Chances are that I'll have Korind appear in a flashback or two at most--some of you might remember what Korind's whole history consisted of (helping/healing random people). The new character just might be one of those random people ^^. Maybe he (she?) gave Korind a pointer or two back in the day. We'll see. But in all probability, Korind is
open for public use--he's pretty flexible, a roamer of sorts. So I doubt there'd be any clashes with history or anything.
Do you have an account list of all the HA1 players to help you know who else you can use for HA2 (Striker, Ronin, Vaneru, probably anyone who got to or almost to level 3 would be memorable to some degree)? And then there are plenty of 'famous' player-created NPC's... Kloak and Daggur for example, who might be expected to be found around the Clock and Cucco, possibly (that is, if Red would be okay with it). :D
Oh, yeah. My girls. They were great characters. (If I do say so myself.) I wouldn't mind if they make an appearence. If Jack doesn't use them chances are that I will have them appear at some point.

I plan on doing similar with my character. He will be a guide of sorts for my new character. Teaching him the way of... well you can guess the rest. ;)

Sweet... so are we entertaining the idea of another top-qual roguish type courtesy of Red Fury? ^_^ Maybe something along the lines of when Red was 'evaluating' JackHP... can hardly wait.

Mind explaining in detail what the Clock and Cucco was/where it was found/and who these girls are?
The Clock and Cucco was the inn that Jack built in Bagu's Forest to go along with the Circle of the Triforce Guild. It was pretty popular and held monthly(I guess) "talent contests", which were basically a chance to write poetry, comedy, whatever, and the best one(voted by those there) won a prize. It was just the best inn we still had at the end of HA.
Kloak and Daggur were two of Red's NPC's. They were both gerudos, and they held managerial(sp?) positions at the C&C after serving in the Golden Ruby for a long time. Red can explain more, but from what I remember, they were an interesting and funny combo.
Kloak and Daggur are Gerudo sisters. Kloak is a thief and the eldest, and Daggur is an assassin. Kloak has her hair tied back into a ponytail whereas Daggur lets her hair hang loose. Their chosen weapon is the Scimitar and Daggur also carries various poisoned throwing knives.
They came into Red's life when they helped him escape the wrath of a soldier, whose Rupees he had just stolen, and from that day on they trained him in the ways of stealth and thievery. Red felt indebted to them and promised to find them a place to stay, instead of having to live life on the run.
He though that he had found them a home at the Golden Ruby, but after a while the members left and the place fell into disrepair. He intended to have a inn built for them, but when the Clock and Cucco was completed he saw it was grander than anything he could have come up with and after taking them to see the place for themselves they agreed that this would the perfect place to live and work.
They were mainly used in my comedy attempts for the talent contest. I have used them for other purposes for example: I made a kind of 'Christmas Special' at the C&C where gifts were given out to the customers. Red and them exchanged gifts, which made a change from Red usually doing or saying something to annoy them and then facing the consequences, to show that there is some love there. (By the way; how do you feel about Gilded Scimitars. ;))
Kloak is the serious sister whereas Daggur is more light hearted about things. However, they both are serious when in comes to their jobs, either their legal or not so legal ones. Since settling down at the C&C they use their abilities to stop the occasional fight that breaks out and don't rely on the 'kindness' of strangers to earn their Rupees. They do sometimes go with Red on his expeditions, but mainly as a supervisory role.
I may add more to this to help the transistion from HA to HA2. (Mainly where Red is invloved.)How much time seperates HA from HA2?
QuoteThe Clock and Cucco was the inn that Jack built in Bagu's Forest to go along with the Circle of the Triforce Guild.
Right. If you want details, JackHP would be the person to ask, but from what I can remember, the Clock and Cucco (better known as the C&C) had multiple floors, and had bit of a coffeehouse feel on the inside. Masks hung on the walls. A bartender named Virgil (NPC created by JackHP) worked there--top rate chowder and October ale. Hope that helps.
You gotta love how most of Kloak and Daggur's histories were made in-game (e.g. with the Ruby and the C&C). That's always gives the game a nice feel ^_^.
QuoteHow much time seperates HA from HA2?
Ah, that's a crucial question. Something that could keep me from having a character who's the grandson of Korind, eh? ;D Or the father, for that matter.
The separation between the two is about a year.
I want to use Gorjack,my char from HA1 before it got deleted...he'll be my NPC,sorta like a godfather for Leon 'till the time of HA2.Gorjack will still be alive, but seldom seen, even to my new character here,Leon.
All of my plot threads will be tied up soon. None of my characters are open for use with out asking me for how to tie them to the story. Sorry. I've put a lot of work into this story and I don't want it to get any more muddled than it is already. Chances are you won't get a chance to use them anyway.
Yeah the C&C was my best work. Damn I miss that place...
either way you guys covered everything.
Weien, do you have the C&C saved to your hard drive? maybe you could post my original description here for use?
Does that mean you don't mind the C&C being in game, Jack HP?
QuoteWeien, do you have the C&C saved to your hard drive?
*sifts through all HA-related AIM conversation logs*
Hm, was unable to find the C&C description, or anything else, save for a bit by Narrator:
Quote"A Cleric is a person who has dedicated their life to the service of one of the Three Golden Goddesses (or in some cases, one of the Lesser Elemental Spirits). They wield magic, which depending on their alignment, can be used to either heal or hurt another."
*shrugs* :D The only other thing was Jack Half a Prayer's sneak-peak post to me of the Tengu:
Quote"The Crow-demon rises from its crouch swinging the staff with all of its weight..."
Dylan, if you want that, I uploaded it here (since it's kinda big and it'd be good to keep this thread cleanish): http://www.myfilehut.com/userfiles/weienw/GreenMan.txt
I wish I had more...
I would love to see the C&C back in action. I evisioned it something like the clock-town tower in MM, only as a hotel. It was ispired by all the coffee houses here in my home town and was run by a man by the name of virgil. He was a quiet type, pretty (blonde pony tail, originaly meant as a villan with crazy wide smiles) but he became kind of a calming force in my story. He is the only character who you can use freely. (yes he's alive) The concept with the C&C was to make a comunity, when ever I would scratch up enough funds I would hold a writing contest there. I had the concept of creating a menu and such, but with no game affects and no reason to "buy" food it never came to fruition.
Well I am finally back for those who remember. I remember my characters name was Rugger and he was a Dragoon (I think the only one). I remember his parents were killed by moblins and was a moderator for a while and was the head of two guilds before I left. Unfortuantly I don't remember anything else, so if anyone can remember I would be grateful.
Remember your "death" and possession by the demon, plus the whole prophecy with Wyndisis and Arthur?
But yeah, welcome back Rugger. I hope you'll join us in HA2.
Oh yeah I remember that, but I do not remember the prophecy though. Plus is there any way I can get my stats for the original?
Your prophecy was that you would be slain by Arthur and Wyndisis(When you were possessed).
The closest I can get to your stats is
ATK- 34 (4 + 2(10) + 10)
DEF- 32 (4 + .5(38) + 5 + 4)
SPD- 35 (5 + 2(10) + 10)
SPL- 37 (7 + 2(10) + 10)
HP- 68 (8 + 3(10) + 20 + 10)
Did I forget anything? I had 38 wrote down for DEF.
Your Magic Spear was 17 plus the Power Glove makes 22 Damage.
Wow thanks alot I totally forgot all about that. I think I have a good idea about my history to set up my character again, thanks again.
I remember something about you being old friends with Anju the inkeep.
Oh yeah I was going to try and start a love interest with that but I never got around to doing it. Oh well, not going to happen now, my character is going to be alot different then what he was before.
Hey, Rugger's back! It's been a long time...
So, by "my character is going to be alot different then what he was before," are you meaning that you're planning on bringing Rugger back for HA2?
Yes I am bringing him back from a distant land that he went to (explained in character thread). The only thing is, can he still be a Dragoon or does he become a Grunt now?
Well, in HA2 Dragoons don't exist, so Rugger would probably just start up as a Grunt. Main (secondary) class might be tricky though.
Probably either a Vassal or Nomad, I have not figured out whether to join the royal family or to be a loner.
I don't understand what we're talking about! :'(
