Female gamers: Why aren't there more? This puzzles me, because if they want games that don't have guns or gore, there are plenty of them.
Yeah, I know! That really bugs me! Girls and I hardly relate enough as it is, but if they (those who aren't gamers) were gamers, then we would!
I'm a girl and I don't understand. I rather play Zelda then go shopping or talking about boys!
You know, it seems that gaming just doesn't woo the ladies...
Well, there aren't many female gamers in my area; only about a couple that I know.
games are awesome
I don't get what people without games do all day.
i have a confesion to make... my mother finish my first game: Super Mario 64, but i was only three ;D
There are a LOT of female gamers. Just look around at some forums. Most forums that's not on the brink of death should have lots of female members.
The forums at NC is a great example, for starters.
There's a girl at my school who's a bigger FF7 fan than I am. Want a clue how much she likes it? She likes "Sephy" :o
Re-he-healy!? Has she forgotten that he stabbed Aerith in the back, for Din's sake!?
same on my , iastreb.. :'(
She's willing to forgive "Sephy" for that.
I know of some girls that are Zelda fans.
If it helps, one of my alter egos is a girl. ;) ;D
Okay, that's just creepy... :-\
I know. That was the purpose. ;D
To have a purpose for what kind of other purpose? ;)
Because my spoiled dogs made me insane, I must make everyone else insane. That is my purpose in life. ;D
I digress. Where are the female gamers? Maybe I should make a whistle to call them.
i dont know where u get all of this stuff! im a girl and i looooooooove zelda games! i've beaten OoT, MM, and WW. (but who hasn't?) my best friend (who is indeed a girl) introduced me to zelda games. i have been in love ever since!

I didn't beat TWW. I don't even have a GameCube. :'(
And some of us live in areas where female gamers are rare.
I'm a female gamer, and yet I act a boy
Nothing wrong with that. Just don't eat me. ;)
Also, can we get a list of female gamers here on this forum, please. I just went through an embarrassing, albeit interesting, misunderstanding with Mag. :-[
o sry. hey i know!!! maybee all us female gamers can have a carwash to raise money so u can get ur gamecube!!! ;)
You could do that. Or could raise the money to get me a DS. ;)
I'm going to get the Wii and just use that to play the GameCube games. I love backward compatablity. ;D
Im a girl gamer. :) :D
I'm not, goro.
With most girls, games is not one of their favorite topics.

Oh, that's alright, dude. ;) It was kind of my fault; you know, with my profile and all, but I fixed it. ;D
Anyway, a list of female gamers would be nice. I wonder if a poll would give us a fairly accurate measurement of male/female separation in the Zelda community.
Uh... Did that make any sense...? ???
It made perfect sense. And a poll would work wonders.
Hopefully, people would actually vote. After all, less than half (I think) people in the U.S. vote for officials.
I think voters in America are rarer than female gamers. ;D
That bad, eh?
But still, there are TOO FEW female gamers out there.
My friend wrote a research paper on girls and video games. As soon as he gets it back, do you want me to get a copy and post it here?
Oh, yes, please! Thanks much! ;D
Wow... This issue must be pretty serious if people are actually RESEARCHING this stuff. :o
Yeah, considering he found all five required sources for it.
Wow! Hopefully, he got a good grade on it! ;D
I'm a female myself, and i get a load of crap about being just a gmaer in general. (i am not one of those closet gamers, who dont tell public, "hello i like games"). but i get more crap for being a female gamer. people think it is unatural or somthing :P
there should be more female gamers. most people, tend to accociate video games with guys (i did NOT say all, but some of the ones i know do). I plan as a futre carrer to work at Nintendo (preferably with the music)
i can still kick ass in Super Smash Bros. Melee, against any guy or girl lol
nerds, geeks, and gamers get a lot of crap these days......especially females....
i have an average of 2 guys (every time i where my "dont make me go zelda on you" shirt) ask me if i even know what zelda is.
DUH! if i wear the shirt, i guess i should know!
one dude asked me to name all zelda games.
took me less than a minuete 8) 8)
Man, you're good, DarkZelda! ;D But, really, why should female gamers get dissed like that? I suppose it's just another stereotype getting in the way of things.
Yeah, I'm definitely getting a copy of my friend's paper. I should have it circulated throughout the fan community. And not just Zelda. I'll hit up on the Mario fan community, the Metroid fan community; you name it, I'll get it there.

Nice, that's a witty one. really clever.
Nothing but the truth. ;D
I know, that's why I thought it was witty. In my local elections, only 30% voted.
thats just sad.
It is. The worst part is they complain when leaders they don't like get into the leadership.
Well, they wouldn't really have the right to complain, since they didn't vote in the first place, right?
You would think so.
Hmm, we're getting off topic.

simply because most people have identify gaming with guys. same thing as when you give a little boy a toy truck, toy gun, or toy tool set, while you give a little girl tea sets, dolls and dollhouses, and dress-up clothes. those items people have identified with the genders. lucky for me, i was always around the guys, i got a Tonka truck at age 4, and i basicly just was a tomboy. i hated (and still do) dresses, skirts and heels; nail polish, and other "girly things". its just what me, myself, and i like. it fits my personality, and i dont give a shit to all the crap that people give me about being a girl gamer. its like giving a guy crap because he sews or somthing.
im not one for stereo types. jsut let females playvideo games.
i found somthing on girls and gamers. here is the link:
http://www.magespace.net/rat/female.html
I totally agree with you. I HATE sterotypes, and for girls the most. It's sad nowadays that if a girl is really good at a sport, she's called gay. If anyone goes out of the gender sterotypes, there called gay. I HATE THAT! >:(
people like that need do crawl out from under their little rock they call home. HELLO! welcom to the 21 century. times have changed. girls will now play video games, and guys can sew, and the both can be straight. 8)
I love shopping, flirting, make up, boys, clothes etc. And Gaming and I am a girl. I grew up with a big bro who always had games and I just got it from there. none of my girl m8s (except for the online 1s) like Gaming. I have some close boy mates who are into Zelda and I love them but at school I dont really hang out wiv them. I think loads more girlz should get into gaming because it is sooo fun and a real escape that calms ya down. :D
Also boy gamers aint geeks they r usually cool and the ones in my class r funny and sum r really hot!
BTW Stuff like gaming unites peeps (cheesy but bear with me) I hardly talked to the boyz in my class b4 but now we have common ground its easy and we can talk about most stuff ;) ;)
But sterotypes make life easier. (Note: I would say this in a sarcastic tone.)
So, you agree with me on the laziness part, right?
But, if more girls got into gaming, guys and girls would be more..."connected," so to speak, and we'd probably understand each other more.
I hardly understand anyone as it is. ;D
We do need more girl gamers. DOWN WITH THE STEROTYPES!
I absolutely LOVE Zelda, but as I said my bro got me into it. most of the Games for Girls are Barbie and the princess type stuff. Nintendo should show the world how to make better games with main girl characters that are independent, adventurous but still sassy! ;)
I heard that Zelda/Tetra took part of the fight in TWW. I think that should be proof enough, but I have a suggestion for Nintendo if they need a girl character.
Wait, they have Samus Aran. But the trouble with that is not many people might know she's a woman. I didn't know that until a few years ago.
Yeah but all she did was stand at the side shooting light arrows. But I think Tetra is a good example of the sort of character more games need as the main character ;)
Hey, it was something.
In my LoZ fanfic, Link has a daughter that sort of takes over for him. ;D
