It's very rare you come across a game as good as Disaster: Day of Crisis. (It's annoying to say the full title, so for now I'll just call it  D:DoC) It has superb gameplay and one of the best Video Game soundtracks I've heard.

Pros: Movie quality plot, wonderful music, creative gameplay, protagonist has the coolest hair ever.

Cons: Some music tracks are overused, plot is unrealistic and has some holes, but still good (I mean come on, a hurricane, earthquake, and volcanic eruption at the same time?), graphics could have been better (although the intro movie's graphics were absolutely stunning.)

The game starts out in South America on a volcanic mountain range. You are Raymond Bryce, an American member of the International Rescue Team. You are saving people from the volcano with your best friend Steve, who's also on the rescue team. Then the Volcano erupts and destroys your helicopter, leaving Ray and Steve stranded. Eventually, Steve breaks his leg, and ends up falling in the lava because Ray couldn't save him. Distraught with guilt, Ray quits the Rescue team and returns to his quiet life in America, until one year later....

Ray is specially requested by the FBI to go after a group named SURGE, who has captured his former friend Steve's sister, Lisa, and a professor of Seismology, Professor Davies. They take a trip to their hideout and Ray almost rescues Lisa. But a massive earthquake stops him and destroys the city. I don't want to ruin any more than that, but I think you get the idea.

I just beat D:Doc today. The final Boss was really unexpected and fun to fight. I think it may be the best final boss battles in a very long time.

I give this game a 41/2 out of 5.

Nice review! Makes me want to play it myself.

You should probably mention that it's (so far) an import-only game, but if I recall correctly, you said it was well-worth the cost of importing it and setting the Wii up to be region-free.

Other than that, great!

Well, if you haven't updated your Wii to system update 3.4, The Homebrew Channel should be fairly easy to install. There are plenty of tutorials, downloads, and videos to help you.  Here's the link to the download site:
