OPERATION RAINFALL (and ponies)

I'm sure you've heard of my desire to play The Last Story over the past year, and you may have not heard anything about it since then. Well, it seems Nintendo is trying to keep it, as well as Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower, under wraps. I don't know about you, but enough is enough. I still love Nintendo, obviously, but even my patience has its limits when there are games to be played. Many people and I have had enough.

Enter Operation Rainfall, stage left.

Yes, this is a large petition movement that has its own Wikipedia page. Also, the same movement managed to get Xenoblade to #1 on Amazon's preorder sales four days ago, and I even heard that it caused a whopping 150000%+ increase in preorders. (Yes, it's over nine thousand.

) I don't know about you, but I sincerely hope that you want to help us get these games over here.

So what do you say? Are you in?

So, I can just go to Nintendo of America's Facebook page and politely ask them to release games over here? Because I really want Fire Emblem: Hikari no Kage no Eiyū to be released outside of Japan.

I also had a dream about Donkey Kong 64 last night (albeit a messed up version of DK64), and my first coherent thought this morning was that Nintendo should remake DK64. Who do I go to to start hassling, er, asking someone about that?

Oh Nintendo.. you just have to keep disappointing me don't you?

They have lost so many followers over this "operation rainfall" thing. I know they promised to make the core gamers happy in 2012, but if they are waiting until then to release those games in America for WiiU I think it will be too late. It's not like we are just gunna forgive them for holding out on us... it's been so long since anything great has been released for the Wii! Who can trust Nintendo anymore?? after denying us these great titles and not to mention delaying Zelda for so long! i seriously pre-ordered Skyward Sword last summer when I didn't even know what the title of the game was! I think if Nintendo released these three games in America for Wii they would make a lot of people happy and gain back their fan base.

But now that I think about it...
It seems like a lot of companies are doing this, not pointing out names *COUGHCOUGHSQUAREENIXKINGDOMHEARTSFINALFANTASY12VERSUSCOUGHCOUGH*
oh my, excuse me, i must be catching something...

So, i have come up with a new strategy when it comes to Nintendo:
aim low and avoid disappointment

Another game I would like them to release here are the Fullmetal Alchemist games they made for the Wii and refused to bring here. I tell you, NoA is being racist against anime! I haven't been impressed with Nintendo since then. They had better bring these games to the U.S, and they had better blow me away with the WiiU.

EDIT: I'm with you, Mags. But if NoA thinks they can take advantage of our desperation by waiting for us to BEG for games and asking with money, I think a few seats on the staff need to be overthrown. I CALL FOR A REVOLUTION ON NOA!

The "commitment to the core gamer" argument is exactly what peeves quite a lot of people off. Well, in my case, it's that they're refusing to ship something over to the States when they're being localized in English anyway; however, thinking of the former is irksome enough. Don't be too angry at Nintendo, though: I believe this is solely NoA's decision, not Nintendo in general.

I may be going out on a limb here by saying this, and I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, but I'm pretty sure that that's Nomura's fault, at least for the Final Mixes. In any case, Namco-Bandai's worse. I'm looking at you, Tales of... series!

You know, I have a feeling OR may focus on that after it's done with the "Big Three RPGs." It did not rule out the possibility of trying to get other games localized, and I have heard quite a few people mention Fire Emblem as a requested title.

See if Retro's interested. They did reboot Donkey Kong Country, after all.

It's free advertising. With NoA's large focus on marketing games in this region, they'll want to try to get the game as well known as possible with as little expense as possible. Getting the Internet to do it is actually a very clever marketing ploy that a few people are actually suspecting Nintendo's resorting to. Knowing NoA's track record of leaving licenses behind in the past, especially this generation, on the other hand...

Me? I'm skeptical. Most of that skepticism rests in what NoE said about NoA not showing the games at E3 because they "didn't want to show games [they] weren't planning to sell." Now, if this rumor really is true, then why would a branch of Nintendo lie to another branch unless both branches were in the know of the whole thing from the start?
