Links Ladder

Why in Hyrule do they keep giving Links house a ladder? Is it supposed to signify that he's still young our something? I get annoyed even though you really don't go to his house that often in either Oot or TP.

Its just where he lives in the certain game. His house in LttP, WW, and MC don't need a ladder so your argument fails right there.

As bgrugby said. To explain it away within the game, it's probably just added protection- remove the ladder and bandits have a tougher time getting in your house, yeah?

What's wrong with being young in spirit?  Look at me.  I'm 18, but I usually act like a little kid.  I'm happy that way.  I also agree with bgrugby and Eralk Fang.

He has a ladder in WW and, not really a ladder, but a moving from floor to floor device, stairs in MC.

okay. This really is extremely pointless. Okay, let's make Link feel less childish and take away the ladder. Now how will he get into the house? exactly. It's not a symbol of belittlement.

And honestly, kids are not the only people to go up ladders, especially to get into houses.  I forgot where exactly they do this, but I believe people in South America build their houses high off the ground to protect from wild animal attacks.  What do you think they use to get up to these houses?  Ladders.

And let's not forget that everyone does not have a system of pulleys and a large platform they can rig up to get to the roofs of their house or to an attack.  Whenver my dad has to get to the roof or attic, he uses a ladder because that's the only way he's going to get up there.

Ladders have a lot of practical uses.  They're not just some child's plaything.  Humans probably invented ladders for practical use before they even thought about using a ladder to make a slide for kids to go down.  It's like Shikamaru said.  It's not a symbol of belittlement.
