Well, its been a long summer for us bikers so far, and its also been a tough one. Since the trip began, we have seen the bad part of San Fransisco, crossed the Sierra Nevadas, traveled the lonliest road in America, crossed the mighty Rockies (I still can't believe we did!), and we are now in Kansas. We expect to leave to the next state before the week ends.

So you've been riding all summer? Man, I don't know how you do it.

Glad to hear you're doing well!

Well, I don't have much time now, but I will say three things:
1. We are now in Missouri. Kansas was horrid.
2. You can find our website by looking up "Jettride" on Google. You can find out who we are and what we are riding for.
3. My mom joins tomorrow! I'm so happy!

Was Kansas horrid due to its flatness? Can't really argue there, since I don't think I've ever been there.

Well, I've got some news.

First off, Mags, Kansas was flat, but not where we were. ROLLING HILLS.

Now for the heartbreaking news. The ride ends this Friday, and sadly, I can't ride. I had a bad fall on a grated bridge, and lacerated the area under my right knee. I got nine stitches. I cannot ride until they come out. I'm still on the tour, it's just that I'm now limited to helping the support driver. But the good news is that I get to ride in the front escort vehicle on our ride into New Jersey! So you see, sometimes the handicap do benefit!

Hi no Seijin

Ouch, that sounds painful.  But helping the support driver sounds cool.
Best.  Cane.  EVER!

It's kind of a shame that the cool things seem to happen only if you get hurt. Sorry, man.

But at the same time, awesome for being able to do cool stuff. :D

Hey, thanks guys!

Well, its over. It's finally over. I'm done, I'm home, and boy, I am lovin it. I ran (fast-limp was more like it...) up to my sister, we hugged, and we cried our eyes out. I haven't cried that much since I got home after the last trip.

When I got home, I had a brand new (preowned, actually) laptop waiting for me, and heavens to Devan, this thing is FAST. 3.06 Ghz, Windows XP (latest edition), blah blah...

Anyway, when the trip was over, we walked our bikes up to the Atlantic, dipped our front tires in, and then, those who were able jumped into the ocean! I, sadly, could only soak my feet. The waves would've ripped my stitches out....maybe.

I can't believe it's over. I can't. It went by too fast. I mean, there were times when I wanted to go home, yes, and I rarely got to contact you guys, but all in all, it was a fun trip. I'm happy that it ended, but at the same time, I'm kinda sad. I loved riding (at least when I was on the road), and I'm gonna miss all my friends. Most of them live in MA, two live in WI, one in Ohio, one in IL, blah blah blah.

But hey, I'm back, I'm somewhat healthy, my sister is staring at my scars, and I'm ready to return to these forums WITH THE FORCE OF A BOMB! (Or a Jedi...)

And it is awesome that you met so many new people and had this experience, but also that you have returned. Welcome back to the desert!
