Fallout: New Vegas

I have, right now on my desk, a brand-new copy of the collector's edition of the PC version of Fallout: New Vegas.

And it is SWEET. :D

Midnight launches for the win! Gonna install it now.

Wish I hadn't gone through so much effort to clean myself up before going to GameStop tonight... pretty much everyone there was a stereotypical basement-dweller. Grimy. ._.

Anyone else gonna pick this amazing-looking game? :D

I'm already tired of the game. No real improvements from the last game.

But yeah, the people at our release were really grimy and nasty.

My friend David is tired of it too. He did nothing but complain the other night about how the only changes they made seem to make the game worse. As for me, I'm enjoying it enough to keep playing it. It's not one of those games that makes me come home from wherever I was out to itching to play more. In fact I'm giving the X Box a break right now. So far...

I'm Level 5
My biggest SPECIAL stat is perception.

My highest stats in order are

Sneak (45)
Repair (36)
Guns (35)

If I could go back and do something else, I'd give myself more endurance. I'm having a really hard time beating the "Demons in the Basement" quest. I've left the quest to get stronger so that I might stand a chance next time.

Well, for me, I went into this hoping to get Fallout 3 in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, and that's exactly what I got, so I'm quite happy with it so far. I'm having a ton of fun with it! I'll post my current stats once I find them.

I'm a little disappoint in how well it runs even on my computer, though, but I AM running it on "Ultra High Quality" mode at 1080p. Still, that's what patches are for, right?

I've run into tons and tons of glitches, from floating scenery, flying people, and even ones where I can't shoot.

Instead of relying on patches, they should probably put more work into getting rid of bugs before release.

It just makes them seem lazy.

Yeah, I agree that it's not impressive when a game is buggy on release. Don't they have beta testers?

However, I haven't noticed anything major aside from the framerate issues. Nothing that wasn't in Fallout 3, anyways, and most of those bugs were just lulzy more than anything else.

I found a few of the glitches hilarious, but it still doesn't give them a reason to have so many. I just got a "Oh we'll patch it later, just give us money now, we'll fix the stuff. Eventually" feeling from it.

What I'm having the most trouble dealing with is the two minute loading screens. I get really sick of watching that ball roll around at the bottom. It's especially bad when you have to go through two doors simultaneously. Anyways, I've since made Speech my highest stat. In Fallout 3 I made Speech and Barter my highest stats, and they rarely paid off at all. In New Vegas though, Speech and Barter happen to be all the rage! So naturally I was pissed about working on Sneak and Guns. If anyone needs help with anything in the game, I'm actually almost done with the main story. I've done plenty of quests, and if you get stuck somewhere I'd be happy to help! All in all, New Vegas got a LOT better. It had a really weak start though. I didn't feel motivated to kill that guy at all.

VERY MILD SPOILER ALERT:

I had little interest in the main storyline up until the mission "Come Fly With Me". That was a fun mission, pretty hilarious too. Did anyone find the missing girl that the trapped Ghoul was looking for during that quest? I couldn't find her. And also, be sure to search the body of that final Demon you have to kill. He's holding a sweet sword called the "Bumper Sword". I'm wondering if it's a play on the "Buster Sword" considering the sword is huge. It cripples enemy body parts almost instantly and does an insane amount of damage even if it needs repaired (which costs an arm and a leg).
