I have a confession to make

I'll make this short, because I don't really think that there's much of a point to putting this the long way. I'm gay. I've known for years, even if I did struggle with it for a while. Lately, I have started to come out to my friends; only told a few so far, but they don't mind and they are openly supportive of me. Pretty soon I'll get around to telling my family, too. There's no reason not to let you guys know, since you are all my friends. I know things will get rocky not too long from now, but I'm willing to take it.

Also, to those of you who are friends with me on Facebook, I would respect it if you didn't mention it on my Wall or anything. I would like to let people know on my own.

Thanks guys. My parents are tolerant about homosexuality, but I do think it will take them some time to adjust to knowing that their son is gay. With time they'll probably be cool, though. Some of my other relatives may be problems, but we'll see how that goes down.

As do I, as well as all your endeavors regarding this development. I imagine it's a very hard thing to admit to the world, but that only shows how strongly you feel about it despite possible adversity. A courageous move, but an admirable one!

I think I can speak for everyone when I say we have your back. Well, as much of your back as we can get in an online setting, but you know what I mean. If people give you crap for it, let us know, and we'll sic Alpha and HnS on them for ya. ;)

But all the gay bashing that goes on in the world just ain't right, and honestly, I'd be more than happy to call a hater out on it myself. Call it catharsis or whatever, but UUUGGH. It's saddening and infuriating to see.
