Second thoughts: This might actually work

Final conclusion: Nintendo's ideals have been surpassed, and someone is about to lose all it's shovelware.

OK, so Natal seems in my opinion the biggest story this year. From what little news I have read about it, it actually works pretty good and the movements are rarely lagged during gameplay.

Now the very ideals of Wii seem to have been put in grave danger, as Windows pulled out its hidden ace. Iwata and Miyamoto's ideals had always been to use less and less buttons and to make interface more natural, now project Natal has done that and surpassed it surprisingly.

If I don't hear about a simmilar project from Nintendo soon, it will probably lose it's just aquired casual market.

I think it's cool, but from what I see, it's just a much more advanced version of EyeToy.

Now all companies are going to try to broaden their demographic. Looks like the casual audience is the next big thing that they're going to go after.

I wouldn't say Nintendo is in trouble just yet. They seem to do a very good job of staying ahead of the game, at least in this generation. I wouldn't be surprised if they themselves have an ace up their sleeves in the future to keep their sales momentum at such a high.

Oh, yes, because heaven forbid Nintendo should be knocked off their high-horse by a competitor.

Personally, I think this thing looks awesome, and I think it has far more potential than the Wii ever did because it detects body motion (and voice) and not just what a little remote tells the console. If Microsoft plays their cards right and makes good use of it in-game (and not release a bunch of crappy shovelware games that rely solely on a control gimmick to sell with no thought for actual game enjoyment), they could totally dismantle the Wii's market stronghold. Think about it - the Xbox 360 would still have the hardcore game library for its established fanbase, plus the mass-market appeal of being a Wii alternative.

It's not Nintendo's fault, it's the third party developers that make the games and can't see past the motion sensing. Nintendo's already making quality games.

It is just another Eyetoy, besides the Milo thing, but I do think this is another step toward virtual reality.
