When it all started
We where tiny
We where little

When it all started the roses still blossomed down to us.

When it all started we still believed in faeries and the unseen things.
We still thought we saw the truth in the corner of the eye

When it all started we never kept a thing from each other,
Yet we always kept it from them.

We were adamant when the adults came looking,
to stay in our hiding spot.
To keep the lies coming.
To keep the secrets away...

Once we were bigger, things where not much else.
The secrets stayed,
the lies didn't

Once we were bigger
The tiny things that we thought we once saw,
stayed away from us.
Stayed from the lies, or even the truths...

We came from our hiding spots,
yet we still honored the code of silence.
But now the secrets stayed in their dark corner of the mouth...

Now that we're big
I hate to be near you.
Out of the corner of my eyes,
I see the truth that we saw in younger days.
This time, however
I see the truth in you.

You've become the fairy that glamoures itself in lies and deceit.
You spew your myths and false grounds like a spider and a web.
You play your new hand of cards to the fullest extent and possibilities.

Now that we're big
the secrets that once freely came from their vault without a care,
cower back into recluse.

Now that we're big we watch our necks for the dagger that we know will soon come
We stay forever on guard, waiting for the knife to enter our backs.

Now that we're big, we fear each other,
as well as our selves.
For now we are the adults that we used to shun.

Now that we're big, the roses don't fall anymore...

Thanks. Yes, I did write it.

My teachers say it lacks too many essentials, so they don't like it. I figure it could use some work then.

Meh, some of the best poets in history followed no rules at all. Look at Dickenson. If you like it as is, I say leave it.
