My friend doesn't believe in god, so I don't have problem with it unless he tryies to make me not believe in god, which he doesn't, so Im cool with other people not believing in god unless they don't try to make me not believe in god, which by the way, will never happen, Im loyal to my word. :D

Well, I still don't like the idea of reading a book thats trying to get me from my religon...

If you are a strong believer in God, I dont think a book could stop your faith. Unless of course you have doubts.

I read the first book and heard the second and third on tape, when I was quite young so I cant remember them too well. I don't believe in God a bit and I never have but I cant say I remember the stories trying to bash Christianity.

Although I think people shouldn't force their beliefs on others I also believe the person writing the article is a fool. Surely telling people to boycott something that could make someone an atheist is basically saying atheism is wrong. He/She doesn't warn everyone away from books/movies about christianity so why warn someone away from a movie (supposedly) about atheism.

Although children are very impressionable they should be allowed to see both sides and not be blinkered. Stopping someone from reading this book would be like saying you couldn't read the bible because it might make you believe in God, it doesn't make sense

Well, it would probably be kind of hard for me to read something that constantly bashes on my faith without quitting reading it out of disinterest/irritation anyway. Not that I have a problem with it now, for I haven't read the books, but who would want to hear from somebody that's bashing on something close to your soul, anyway?

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Yeah I guess so.
But the thing is, it's a good fantasy story.
When I read it, I wasn't thinking about the views expressed I must say, I was just enjoying the plot.

He's not telling everyone to boycot it, just the fellow Christians who were planning on taking their kids. It's not the movie that's the problem, since it was the least offensive book and was watered down even more, it was that the kids will want the rest of the books. It's more of a warning about what they're taking their kids to see than anything.

Well, to be honest, I didn't even know there was a movie for it, XD
