well a good thing about having a version of the game that will never update is that you don't need to connect to the internet in order to play online

It's simple.  If you don't need to connect to the internet to update, then you don't need to be on the internet at all.  If you're not on the internet, that's just more bandwidth to use up when you're online.

It's just that Valve and EA are being *strong word*s about the PS3 version and neither will take responsibility for it, so it's update-less and buggy and will remain that way for eternity (probably). Far from unplayable and still pure, concentrated fun, though.

I would like both things very much. I'd imagine you'd be a good player, so you'd fit right in with some of my friends.

Besides, it's only $20. Considering "Team Fortress 2" alone costs that much on Steam, it's a steal.
