I don't really believe in god or religion, but i like to say "I LOVE Jesus." as a joke. and to bother HH92, i always say Jebus instead.

( g-bs, not jee-bus, like jebis, but mumbled.)

...Don't you think it's kind of insensitive to make fun of a religion solely to annoy someone who believes it?

well, neither of us ever thought it was a big deal.

...and i'm not the first one. ever see the simpsons movie? and a couple kids at my school say it too.

and i searched 'jebus' on ebay, and there were a bunch of posters with homer looking up praying and saying 'praise jebus'.

see for yourself.

*sigh*

The Simpsons movie finds actual funny things with Christianity though, little quirks and such. I do the same thing. You can find humor anywhere you look. But when you say something with little cleverness and repeat it over and over solely to get at someone who believes it, it's less funny and more jerkish.

If it doesn't actually annoy him much though, then it's not a big deal. But if it seriously upset him...

And besides, you can't be humorous without being a little rude. If you think a joke is funny, laugh at it. If you think a joke is offensive, don't say anything. Don't ruin the fun for the people that think it's funny. And besides, the Simpson's are supposed to be Christians, right? They go to church. And keep in mind they don't say all bad things about Christians. Remember that episode with the cult religion that brainwashes the followers and they make Christianity look like a utopia compared to the cult.

The Simpsons satirize everything. And wasn't that in the Treehouse of Horror where Homer finds a way to make his toaster into a time machine?
