      Long ago there was a war that ravaged the land and split the earth at it's core. Back then magic was an aspect attributed to everyday life. Everyone used it and everyone understood it's properties. Then in the country of Birnam arose a dark mage seeking glory and imperialism in his own name. Life was transformed into a living hell for all the inhabitants of the continent. In those days the world was comprised of a single continent and outlying Islands surrounding the Mainland, this landmass was called Terra. When the sundering of the earth occured Terra broke into 4 different continentswhich bacame four seperate countries. One of these retained the name of the former country of Birnam, while the others were christened as follows: Parelcia, Gavenmore, and Zareel. Although the civilization there was rebuilt in only a few hundred years it soon lost the hard workers and those that stayed behind let their morals leave in their stead.Birnam became home to the worse the world could offer and soon, plagued by death and degradation, Birnam's population declined until only a few inhabitants remained just so they could see their final days in that land and then these survivors died as well.
