Prologue - The Coming Storm.

Dharkan sat in his command chair, absently fingering the scar that ran down the left side of his face. Dharkan had received that scar fifteen years ago from a Hylian swordsman. Dharkan lost the use of his left eye, the swordsman lost his life. While he didn't mind being half-blind, Dharkan did wonder what became of that Hylian woman with the infant that escaped him because of the swordsman. Dharkan distinctly remembered clipping her with his spear, but-

"Viva Kyron! General Dharkan, we will enter Hylian airspace within ten hours!"

Dharkan cast a slightly annoyed look at his immediate subordinate, Major Walug. The Major was tall thin man with a big moustache and a huge red nose. He was sharply dressed in the standard Kyronian officer's uniform. A snort came from behind the Major.

"What's so great about Hyrule anyway? They don't even have steam engines yet."

As Walug sputtered in embarrassment, Dharkan glance through his right eye with amusement at his niece, Bridge Commander Alexia. At the moment, she was pacing back and forth across the widest part of the Iron Fist's command deck. She wore the same uniform as Walug, except for the cap. Alexia despised the cap, as it messed up her neck length blonde hair.

"It's true that Hyrule doesn't have much technology. But I've heard they have magic that no one else does."

Dharkan turned to see Field Commander Spark arrived. Spark only wore his uniform on formal occasions. Currently he was wearing a leather outfit that was covered with all sorts of buckles and straps. Spark ran a hand through his red hair, shoulder length and unkempt except for being tied back in a ponytail.

"Still, I agree with Bridge Commander Alexia that there seems to be no reason for invading them."

Dharkan let out a low laugh that caught everyone's attention. Standing up, he swept aside his crimson cloak, revealing his jet black uniform. The breast of the uniform was covered in various medals.

"Alexia, Spark, both of you listen carefully. We Kyronians, above all other races of the world, were chosen and designed by the gods to receive their words and enact their will. How do we know this? Because of our ears. Deku, Gorons, and Zoras have hardly any ears at all. Humans and Gerudos have stubby little round ears. Hylians, our distant cousins, have ears that point out in the wrong angle, so they receive the gods' messages only in part. But we Kyronians, whose magnificent ears point straight up as the gods intended, receive the gods' messages in their entirety.

Fifteen years ago, before you two were born, we started a glorious crusade to claim the gods' legacy, the Golden Power, and use it to turn this planet into a paradise for all. Perhaps as a test, the gods had left the Golden Power in Hyrule, the country of the Hylians. The Hylians were greedy, they wanted the power only for themselves. So we had to resort to force to achieve our goals. The fighting went on for months. Realizing they couldn't beat us in a fair fight, the Hylians called in the Gorons and Zoras to fight their battles for them. Drastically outnumbered, we had no choice but to retreat back to our own lands."

Dharkan paused a moment to look over his followers. Alexia was scowling, probably finding it hard to believe that "Rock Bellies" and "Fish Heads" beat Kyronians. Walug, who was there with him, was listening with crossed arms and a nodding head. Spark was certainly paying attention, but for some reason was rubbing the back of his left hand. Dharkan continued.

"I believe the main reason for our failure was that we acted sooner than the gods intended. For now I hear the gods' message. Even now they are repeating their message in my perfectly upright ears. They are telling me 'Drain the Temples. Capture the Sages. Break the Blade. Then Ultimate Power will be yours.' So now we move once again to claim what is rightfully ours."

Spark deciding against asking Dharkan if he was certain it was the gods he was hearing. Just then a speaker above Dharkan activated.

"Viva Kyron. Chief Scientist Taltoc speaking. General, all Gearhead soldiers and Clock Golems are ready to go."

"Have you studied the map of Hyrule, the one that indicates the temples?"

"Yes. For a strategic viewpoint, it would best to start with the Forest Temple."

"Then 'Operation: Golden Power' will begin with... The Kokiri Forest!"
