Zelda Wii Timeline Placement Theories

I'm not sure if any of you noticed yet, but I just thought of something pretty alarming, and it's something I wish we mentioned in the last SandCast.

We all know how ol' Steve is often thought of as the anthropomorphic representation of the Master Sword, and as we all know, one of Miyamoto's heaviest hints was the fact that he has no sword.

Quote from: Shigeru Miyamoto"Well, the story setting for this Zelda is, of course, in a completely different era and Link is older than he was previously. More approaching adulthood. There is one hint. Maybe from the art work you can see that he's not holding a sword."

Given the context, maybe Steve isn't necessarily the Master Sword incarnate. Maybe he's really saying that he has no sword because the Master Sword doesn't exist in that era--before Ocarina of Time.

You might've thought of this before, but this just hit me for whatever reason.

Oh, yeah, and feel free to discuss your theories on the placement of the game here.

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

I remember reading somewhere that the new game will take place sometime after TP. Then I read "completely different era". But... one person could live during two eras, I suppose. As eras end with a revolution or something like that (Am I wrong?). Imagine Hyrule has been drastically changed after what happened in TP. For all we know there was a neighboring country that exploited Hyrule's weaknesses after this event, and SCHTOLE IT :o This is just an example I came up with just now though, lol.

"Link is older than he was previously". This could mean it's a "sequel". Or Miya is talking about the character Link from all the previous Zeldas, not a specific one.

If the game is set before OoT? Sure, why not? I know I've just been protecting TP->NewZelda, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I believe it is, or that I want it to be. I don't really care where they put the game, as long as they put it. Lol.
