This is a more detailed explanation of the split timeline theory.

The Goddesses create Hyrule and leave the Triforce in the Sacred Realm.

The 7 races cultivate in their respective areas.

Turmoil breaks out over the Triforce's location, and the Great War begins.

The tiny Picori grow tired of all the fighting and bestow the White Sword to Gustaf (or the Hero of Men, as mentions in the Minish Cap). The sword seals all evil and the people worship it with care.

To protect the Triforce from evil, the Sages Council build the Temple of Time to house the entrance to the Sacred Realm and craft the Master Sword as the key to the Sacred Realm and as a tool for the destruction of evil.

After long years of peace, the Crown Prince wishes to use the Triforce as a tool for his rule as king, but his heart was not a virtuous one and the golden triangles splits into 3 pieces leaving the Crown Prince with Courage, his older sister Princess Zelda with Wisdom, and the third piece to no one.The prince demands to know the whereabouts of the other two pieces. An evil wizard suggests to him that Princess Zelda knows where they are, but when Zelda refuses to tell the Prince, the Wizard cast a spell on Zelda suspending her in a deep sleep, but the wizard, overwhelmed in power dies. The Crown Prince realizes his mistake and deems that every girl in the Royal Bloodline be named Zelda.The Triforce returns to its resting place in the Sacred Realm. The Legend of Zelda had begun.
