A theory about Hyrule's geography

Firstly, most people believe that Dragon Roost Island in WW is actually death mountain. An even greater amount of people seem to believe that the Rito are an evolution of the Zora, and Valoo is a reformed Volvagia.

You'll find that that map supports the idea that Dragon Roost and Death Mountain are one in the same.

Look closer at that map though. What's underneath Dragon Roost Island, in pretty much the Exact same spot as Death Mountain? That's right. Fire Mountain. I believe that Death Mountain is actually Fire Mountain, and that Dragon Roost is another mountain, a much bigger one, on which the Rito and Valoo have always lived, but were too high up for the rest of Hyrule to know about them.

I mean look at Dragon Roost Island. The mountain is almost as tall as Death Mountain was in OOT, and that's just the part that STICKS OUT of the water. Fire Mountain is more realistic to be Death Mountain's remains.

More evidence of this is that inside Dragon Roost Volcano is not the fire temple. And the top of the volcano is not open, like Death Mountain was. Fire Mountain on the other hand, is more open than Paris hilton's legs. And the power bracelets are found there. These could have some tie-in with the Goron Bracelet of OOT.

This goes against the idea that the Rito evolved from the Zora. I believe they were simply secluded from the rest of Hyrule during OOT, and appeared during WW. Who knows, they may appear in TP, which is confirmed to take place between OOT and WW.

As for the question of how Laruto can call Medli her ancestor, you could say Medli isn't full Rito. She sucks at flying, and she's older than Komali, who turns out to be a pro. That, and Zora could exist elsewhere, somewhere where Rito also live, where they could have intermated. After all, there's mention of other Rito in WW, that just aren't there. For example, a guard wants you to find feathers for his girlfriend, but the only female Rito in the game is Medli, a kid, and I don't think the guy's into that kind of thing. Do you really think there are only like 12 Rito in total? They must exist elsewhere too. In fact, Quill seems to know the way to Greatfish Island quite well, and it didn't even have a postbox. (Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I believe there's no Greatfish island box in the letter minigame) It's possible that Rito and Zora coexisted at Greatfish, and all died when it was destroyed. I think if that were the case, some of the Rito on Dragon Roost would mention it, and be a little upset though.

Either way, I'm sure there are or were other Rito. Possibly somewhere where Zora's existed, so they could mate. Heck, maybe a Rito travelled to the Earth Temple and mated with Laruto herself.

On a side note, the Earth Temple is located above Lake Hylia on the map, hence why Laruto was there. And not really related, the Islet of steel is located on top of the former Gerudo Fortress. Some of it doesn't really make sense though, since there were never mountains in those places before. The gods may have created certain mountains, perhaps.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this little theory I had. If you don't agree with it, feel free to disregard.

It's a good theory, and I can't seem to make a counterpoint against it, except for evolution with the Zora to Rito thing, and I don't really feel like going there right now.

And this would go better in the Theories board.

Yes, but you forgot that things change overtime. You see that Hyrule Castle was moved under Tower of the Gods, probably because Ganon destroyed Hyrule Castle in OOT. Islet of Stell could really be the remains of a fort on the Hylian/Gerudo border (The Gerudos probably couldn't be trusted now because of Ganon). Foresaken Foretress could be Gerudo Foretress. The Water Temple evolved into the Earth Temple. Also, there is a box for Greatfish Isle, but the mailbox could have been destroyed because of the storm. The Rito could be the race mentioned in the OOT manga, but a little more evolved.
