Now let's see if I have this right. Please notify me of any and all mistakes I may or may not have made.

Rievault [L1 Human Grunt]

Attack - 3
Defense - 6
Speed - 2
Special - 1
HP - 1

Rievault entered late in the Hylian wars, and was thus given reprieve before he was in any battles. However, bootcamp gave him the basic military training to know how to wield a variety of common weapons. His favorite is the spear, and he knows how to handle it better than most of the recruits he worked with. When he was given leave, he returned home.

However, he found his house on the outskirts of Lon Lon Ranch decimated from the march of armies across Hyrule. Everything he had built was taken away, his family, his possesions, even his pet bird. The house had been put to the torch, and everyone inside as well.

Burning with rage and driven by a need for revenge, he re-enlisted in the Hylian army to satiate his newfound bloodlust. Little has happened, but he longs for the day he can avenge his family's name.

Have you checked out the game itself at www.desertcolossus.com/adventures ? Oh, and be sure to read the Rules Set here at the forums. That will tell you how to work you stats and play the game!

BTW, family burned while in their house...sound familiar to anyone from HA1?

Aha, the old "all house and home and particularly all filial ties cut off so my character can start anew as a cool suave wanderer with plenty of angst" motif ^^. True, this is popular (Korind is an example of this, to name one out of the many). And family burned within is familiar, Rugger XD.

But you know what they say. It's all been written before (nothing new under the sun and all). The best we can do is write something that most people haven't heard of (Maybe have a goron born out of a strange magic stone? Reminiscent of Pilgrimage to the West's "Monkey," but how many people here would notice? ^___^).

Good story, Rievault. Not the most original, with the whole; My family is dead so I must claim vengance, motivation, but most stories have a hero arise from these circumstances. Famous examples of this would be Batman, and Spider-man.

I think my character in HA1 was one of the only ones with a family left. I was planning there to be moments where he was reflecting over letters and even have a surprise encounter with his brother. Oh, well.

Talking of "Monkey", there was a TV series by the name of Monkey on British television years ago. (I'm talking 1980's.) The episodes were dubbed from the original Japanese, although the tale is Chinese. It was a tale about a priest called Tripitaka who goes on a pilgrimage, to India to retrieve the Buddhist scriptures, along with Monkey, Pigsy and Sandy. Also a dragon, which turned into a horse and then turns into human when frightened.
This is from the TV series so I don't know how accurate this is, but I'm sure you will correct any errors, Wein.

Right on, Red ^^. Tripitaka and his pilgrimage are pretty famous, at least in the asian countries, I think.

But the bit about Monkey is that he was originally a stone monkey, and was somehow brought to life. This might be noticed as the inspiration for a goron who was born out of a stone, but hopefully only a few (like Red here

) would notice. And it'd be quite original anyway, considering that the Pilgrimage to the West is such an old tale.

Now that my link to the forums is working again..

I had copied the rules to the computer I was using, and realized that I had made quite a few mistakes. I could not remedy them, however; every time I tried to visit the page, the dreaded 404 error popped up. Eventually it cleared up, which is why you're hearing from me now. Thanks for the heads up, anyways!

For the story, I'm glad you liked it. Granted, it's one of the most over-used that I can think of, but it also allows for much more versatility than having ties to something. Rest assured that I will make something of it.

I will update my stats and such as soon as I have the time. A couple of hours from this post should suffice.
