Zelda Poetry

Hello! I am a new member and I LOVE poetry! I have some and if you do, please post it here! :)
Here goes mine:

that symbol, on your hand
means someday, you'll save this land


he was not of the race, of which, he thought
but that was no disgrace, when he fought

He fought with a sword and a shield by his side
to save the princess
And his pride

and then, one day he died....OK that was a joke lets get on with it!

and when the day came
he was able to weild
the power of the triforce
he took his sword and shield

And saved that land
with but a symbol, on his hand.

Mm, I like the continuity, and the clever usage of familiar phrases! So this is the official "Zelda poetry" thread now? Hehe.

I was wondering if anyone had any... like, "requests" for Zelda poem topics (for example, "I want to see a poem about the happy mask man!") or something. KInda like a muse boost :D to get people started... anyone?

That's a good one, I really appreciate the idea! And with the help of the awesome Compendium and Encyclopedia, hopefully I can try a bit of Zelda poetry on the Scrubs/Shrubs...

Deku Scrubs

Be on your guard, that bush just stirred
Reminds me of a tale I heard
Of Deku scrubs (or, "Deku Shrubs"--
or so they're called in the Book of Mub)


They're not your average vegetable
They're bipeds standing two feet tall
But the only thing you see at all
Is a tuft of Deku greens

CHORUS
Hold "R," or else you'll feel, the meaning of that Deku squeal
A nutty kernel in your face will tell you what's awry
Stay calm, hold up your shield, and keep it level, square, and steeled
Your prize will be a hollered "ouch!" that's sure to satisfy

The foliage will rise a bit
Expose the bush as counterfeit
And show unblinking yellow eyes
Then followed by what underlies

He'll rustle, grin, and make a sound
Then spit out something target-bound
And then retire underground
Just blame those Deku genes

Hold "R,"...

But if you sent the nut back right
Get ready for a bit of fight
It's duck-duck-goose with a Deku scrub
So grab your sword (or Moblin club)

He'll cry out uncle presently
Then try to sell you junk that's free
Just let him go at liberty
Or buy those Deku beans

Hold "R,"...

How did you come up with that? That's a pretty funny line, if ya ask me.

Thanks for the comments, guys; it means a lot to me. Oh and for the duck-duck-goose line (just about all of them, I guess) you could say that it just sorta popped into my head ^__^ ! God is good that way.  :D
