Who else like them. I like Naruto, Case Closed, and InuYasha in that order.

Gamefreak

I've had people tell me that the Naruto manga is much better than the American Anime.

darkphantomime

Eh, wouldn't matter. I honestly don't care too much for Naruto. But I have read Rurouni Kenshin, and BLEACH. Both are very  good and very funny manga

I also just got me some Nausicaa and Ghost in the Shell Manga. Weeeeeee, rare Manga!

alical

I have read Naruto and this one I found in a bookshop called Tokyo Mew Mew. It wasn't very good. But it was the 3rd in the series so i had no idea what was going on.

Dehumanizer

Tokyo Mew Mew by Tokyopop its not very good,

Rev Rabies

i wish i had a naruto manga or trinity blood manga, you know me and my trinity blood!

Mysterious F.

To answer your question, Gamefreak, yes! Example: in one fight (Shino vs. Zaku), Zaku, who releases ultrasonic blasts from holes in his palms, tried to release a blast from both plams, but Shino clogged them up with bugs. In the anime, this only riddled Zaku's arms with holes. In the manga, Zaku's right arm broke off entirely, while the left one was broke around the elbow. Lots of blood.

Hi no Seijin

I'm waiting for Vol. 10 of the Suikoden III manga to come out.

Hi no Seijin

Well, I would go to the bookstore to get one.  I much rather have a hard copy of something if I can get it.

Vincent, try a bookstore.

I heard that the manga has ALOT more blood than the American anime allows.  And I heard Naruto isn't shouting "BELIEVE IT!" every five seconds.

Hi no Seijin

Hmm, my friend was telling me something about that the other day.  Apparently, on G4 when they show commercials for Naruto, they only quote him saying, "Ninja, ninja, ninja.  Believe it, believe it, believe it." :P

A small explanation:

Everyone can start drawing/writing a comic and one way or another, get people to read it. There's no loss if they don't like it (except for a possible broken ego)or reject it because of certain things considered "immoral". However, if "bigger" people decide the comic is a huge succes, and that a cartoon could give them a lot of profi, things chance. Because it takes a lot of time and money to create even one episode, they must make sure it's worth it. So lots of things like violence, sex and even the kind of humor get tuned down, because the big public might reject it or tv-bosses might not even dare to air it at all. Also, a tv-show usually reaches a much bigger audience and gets more "fans", so that means toys, clothes etc. can be sold too. Did you know that the manga of Yu-Gi-Oh does not contain a single card (okay, except for one episode)? It's completely different from the anime, MUCH better different. I recommend it.

This is not just a japanese thing. American and European cartoons based on comics are the same. The comics usually contain a lot more cruelty. Did you know an entire episode of Gargoyles was not allowed to be aired because it contained blood? It was only allowed to be aired once, during a Gargoyles marathon, and only heavily edited. I saw the original episode and was surprised they could make a problem of that amount of blood. It was like....nothing! But what even surprised me more was that the censors completely missed the message of that episode: that accidents eventually will happen if guns are involved. It was one of the best episodes ever, but I think it had too much of a mirror-effect. ::)

Anime is different from our cartoons in many ways. Ways that often are not understood by the big tv-men. For instance, Disney has the rights for Ghibli's work in the USA. The big difference between those two companies is that Ghibli knows when to shut up and let the beautiful scenery or (facial) expressions do the talking.  Disney doesn't know that. Ever seen the DVD of Mononoke Hime in Japanese, english subs? Ever noticed how often there are subs while nothing is being said? Disney fills and ruins the silent moments with the most cliché and meaningless quotes for I don't know what reason. One way or another this goes for every anime. Things they do not say are added or replace far better, more original quotes. Things that are considered "shocking" (note that this would be a second downtune) are removed and sometimes the missing time gets replaced with older scenes, but then with new text. Stories are ruined, sometimes making it all hard to understand. I never understood what a pokemonmaster was, or why you would want to be one. Untill I learned it was just something added by american editors to give Ash a goal, totally missing he already had one!: the training and traveling themselves. He doesn't do it to reach something else, he does it because that's what he wants to do. Apparently, that is hard to understand.

Hi no Seijin

So Pokémon could've been less cheesy?  Would Team Rocket kept on trying to take Pikachu in plans that were obviously going to fail?  By the way, did Jessie and James finally stop trying to dig holes to trap Ash?  And just so I won't stray off topic, does Misty and Brock team up with Ash in the manga?
