Last Friday, I browsed through eBay and bought myself a copy of The Legend Of Zelda for my NES! It's one of those cool gold cartridges, and it's in really nice shape, too! Anyways, it came in the mail today, and I've been playing it just about all day long! So, I figured I'd post this topic and let you all know what I think of it as I play it. Think of it as a video game review in action. So far, I love it! It's so much fun! It's gotten pretty difficult pretty quickly, though. I'm getting a bit lost trying to find where to go next. Oh, well, I'll figure it out.

That's great! Ah, I remember my first Zelda game: Ocarina of Time.  :D Good times, good times! Have fun with it!

MatthewThief

yeah LoZ is a cool game, thats the first zelda game i ever saw. when i was 9 or 10, i used to watch my Dad and Brother play it all the time. the wierd thing is my brother is younger than me and he beat loZ countless times.. when he was like 8. i tried when i was 10.. but the NES broke so i couldnt win it so last year we got the remeke for GBA and i finally won it this year ^_^

Fishalicious

that game was fun, though I was like "uh... what?" at the beginning. XD

Vaati

Yeah, I can't seem to find that candle in AoL. Grrr!!!

Twilight Wolf

This game has been great so far! Lots and lots of fun! As of now, I'm trying to get past the... fourth dungeon, I believe it is. It's a little odd how the game doesn't tell you at all where to go next, but that just adds to the adventure of it all! This game makes me glad I bought an NES!

Vaati

Lucky! I haven't even gotten that far!

Twilight Wolf

Well, don't feel too bad, because I can't get past it! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the mini-boss/boss/whatever is so far invincible to my forces! I normally try to avoid doing so, but I guess I'll have to look at a game guide...

I did that in Link's Awakening once... turns out I was fighting the wrong enemy. ;) (which I only found out after going and fighting the correct enemy. I felt stupid...)

Twilight Wolf

Yeah, that sort of happened to me in this game, too. I used to think that this dungeon, the one I'm stuck on, was the second one, so I didn't get very far in it. It was like "Well, duh, no wonder I didn't get anywhere!" when I found out my mistake.

Actually, I'm not a whole lot further past it now that I've defeated the ones prior to this one...

Try every weapon in your arsenal. Buy any items you think could help you. XD;

Twilight Wolf

Yeah, I've tried every weapon I have in my possession. Sword, bombs, boomerang, blue candle... no effect! I haven't come across the guy who sells you arrows yet, though, so he might be the answer!

what are you stuck on? i could probally help  :D

I think he may be fighting Digdogger. If it's a giant ball, it's probably him; use the flute, you get that in a dungeon somewhere.

And the GBA one was a port, not remake. Remake is something where they improve the graphics extensively and stuff; a port is a game that's just a copy or 'emulation' of the original. Like with the collector's edition of Zelda for GC.

Hmm... You guys make me feel so old. SO OLD!

And Vaati...

"If all else fails, use FIRE!"

Twilight Wolf

Yeah, it's Digdogger. The thing is, I can't get the flute, because I can't get past the blue knights/Darknuts/whatever they are in that one room... they're just too tough! And according to an online guide, even if I manage to get past that group of them, I have to put up with another group!

As you can imagine, this is pretty frustrating.
