I don't care that he doesn't believe in God. What I care about is that he's using his books to try and make kids reject him as well. He says that religion is 'oppresive' and 'tyrannical', well, we have a choice, and what does he think he's doing? I dunno, I just had to vent after reading that. I'm going to read the books as well, to see for myself what he's writing.

He being an atheist is something that I can let stand. It's no skin off of my back. But trying to convince people of his belief of disbelief is overdoing it. If that's true, then he's no better than how the Puritans were.

I know... It doesn't hurt them if people don't believe the same things that they do. Why SHOULD they care? Sometimes, the human mind just baffles me... :-X

OOOOOH, so thats why I found the book boring within the 3rd chapter XD yea, I think thats just stupid, is what you should be doing is trying to make the younger life believe in god instead of making them follow his stupidity by trying to make them not believe in god, yes, I found the book series, BBBBBOOOOOOORING! I read 3 chapters in the golden compase, and I was like, ok, this book is boring!

Jdog, if you try to force the belief that God does exist to the younger generation, then you're just as bad as he is.  The point we're making is that people should believe whatever they want to believe, but respect other people's beliefs at the same time.  You don't have to agree with them, but you shouldn't force your religion on other people.  Now, I'm not saying you can't expose them to new religions, but exposing them to new ideas is not the same as ramming new ideas down their throats and forcing them to follow the new ideas.

Yes, mostly it's his hypocrisy by talking about how oppressive Christianity is and then trying to....whatever.

Well, I'm just saying, trying to make people not believe in god is wrong, thats cool if they don't believe in him, but if they try to make other people not believe in god? now thats just wrong. Trust me, if my dad was in on this, you'd be listening to him for at least 20 hours. if not more...

It doesn't matter what they believe. Trying to force your beliefs is WRONG.

One could say the same thing about religion. But all things as they are, they are done out of passion.

I'm not. As I've said, I'm going to read them, and see just exactly what it is he's writing. That way I can speak more knowledgeably on the subject.
