These games are hard.

Boy, they don't make games like they used to.  In some senses, that is a good thing for me, I have AoL and I am not even past Parapa Palace (L1).  All that work for a CANDLE?!  Can anyone give me some tips to help me?  Like what is a good way to fight the boomerang throwing Goriyas?

Jack

My strategy for AoL has always been to grab the items then go back and do the bosses at the very end of the game. At least, I refuse to go within three inches of Horsehead without the Jump and Downthrust techniques.

As for the Goriyas, I just jump a lot and hope that I manage to avoid the Boomerangs. The worst are those big Yetis that throw spoons at you (though, I doubt that's what they really are/do).

Darth Wyndisis

Oh, so you don't have to complete certain levels to move on to others?  How far away is that candle in the palace anyway?  That game is sure hard to figure out, heck, I didn't even know how to pick up items until yesterday. :-[

Jack

The Candle's on the bottom floor over to the far left, past some bits, bots, and one Goriya I believe.

You really only need the items to move around the world, but you need to beat the bosses to access the very last temple (Great Palace).

Whoo!  I got the candle.  I am so proud of myself. :D  I need the jump spell to get through that cave south of Ruto.  I hope I can get that.

Edit:  I looked up the Jump Spell on this site.  Where is Darunia Town?

Across the sea, it'll be a bit before you get there.   :-\

Edit: Here's a map.

Marin

In the game can we expect to be able to get to the other places curintly unavalible?

Master Goron

I would assume yes, unless it's past the borders or not supposed to be in the game.

Darth Wyndisis

There is an error in the instructions to get the Jump Spell.  You said it was in Darunia, but it is in Ruto Town.

Hi,  first thing, that map is a composite of The Legend of Zelda at the bottom and The Adventure of Link at the top half.

About this game. Stop saying it's hard!  Lots of people say this game is hard.  IT IS NOT!  I love this game.  And btw, you can go so far as to defeat the bosses of the Castles, then backtrack out of them. Saving yourself for that final amassing of players to take across the lava field to the Great Palace.  Trust me, if you're a 1st time player of this game, you'll need every player you can your clammy little paws on.

By the way again, be sure to learn the locations of all the Link Dolls.  You might want to try and take at least 15 players with you as you go to the lava field and Great Palace for the 1st time.

Dude, if you know how mentally challanged I am when it comes to playing Zelda, the fact that is hard for me should not surprise you.  I love the game to, I love Zelda, I am just terrible at playing them.  Wind Waker was a challange for me for goodness sake!  Check out my thread in the ALTTP section called "Shadow's Stupid Questions."  Plus, considering that I have the motor skills of a four-year-old, it is insanely hard for me to get link facing in the right direction in with that tiny GAMECUBE D-Pad.  I tried to lower my shield when an Armos is swinging its sword at me low, and I turn around backward.  BOOM!  DEAD!

Now, what are those, "players," you mentioned?

I'm assuming the "players" are lives or something, 'cause she said that you want to take as many as possible to the lava field and Great Palace.

Oy vey!  Don't talk about Wind Waker.  I have the game My niece has the game cueb. My mistake.  I never actually looked at the controller before I purchased the WWgame.  Result.  Wind Waker just sits in my cabinet.  I can't stand the joystick feature on that controller.  I also bought Megaman Transmissions the same day. Two games I bought for crap.  I know HORI makes a controller for the GC but it doesn't play well with wind Waker. Result. *HEAVY, HEAVY SIGH, 'CAUSE I JUST WASTED MY CASH.

About the players... okay ,I believe you are the guy who said you're lazy and doesn't like to work for points and players.  HELLO, you'll have to work for these.  Okay, you can get all the Link Dolls for 6 Players, i believe it is.  And you can find a map on a certain site that will show you exactly where they are located.  After that, you'll need to amass the 9000 pts for a new player dude.

That's why I advise, kill all the Bosses of the castles and exit thru the front door.  Saves the possibility of losing a player during a boss fight.  You can quickly amass points in the Water Temple.  There is a room where brown block fall to the floor next to a key.  In the place you can use that flying eye to amass all the men you want.  You will however have to get it in just the right groove to may it come in every 1/4 sec or so.

Btw, call me dudette.

It don't take that much getting used to. That's all it is, really, getting used to it like any other controller. I'm already back at the high Horseback archery level on OoT that I was on the 64.

HELLO, not everyone has to WORK on a game. Work symbolizes something done because it HAS to be. And not EVERYONE has to play the same way as you, you may have had to have all the lives, but I may only have to have 2-3.

There's more ways than having to sit in one place, I hope! And besides, if you level up, the points that a creature gave you isn't going to be as much. Two points takes TOO LONG to get to some of those levels. ><
