Anubis.  Lamest Villain Ever?

Production's finally begun on the YGO: Abridged Movie, so I suppose that's cause for celebration. I'm sitting here editing the movie into tiny shot-by-shot snippets, so that it'll save time when I finally come to put it all together. I've already got a bunch of ideas for jokes, so hopefully I won't struggle too much over the next month (give or take a week).

Watching the movie back again, I realised what really bugs me about the film's antagonist, namely Anubis. Villains in Yu-Gi-Oh usually tend to have some good in them, but Anubis? Not so much. He just wants to destroy the world. Why? I have no earthly idea. Surely if he did that, he'd be out of a job. After all, if nobody was alive, would you really need a Lord of the Dead anymore? I dunno. I guess they just had to create a bland, two-dimensional villain for the movie.

Did anyone actually see this in the cinema? It came out long before I'd seen the show, so I never really had the chance.

Speaking of which, the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie is out in America right about now. I'd kill to see that on a big screen. Sadly, it ain't coming out in England. *sigh*

Actually, the season not shown in America was very violent from what I here (deaths in almost every episode) and American parents are more careful with letting their children watch 'violence' than Japanese parents.

And in both America and Japan, they erased memory of the season and started the series anew, like how Kaiba, Bakura, and Shadi weren't yet introduced.

Well, LittleKuriboh's Invisible Gun joke comes from American editing.  In the Japanese version, the peole were holding guns.  In the American version, people were just pointing wierd.

So half his jokes were about 4kids....sweet...in the Japanese version was Bandit Keith wearing a Japanese bandana?
