Yes, but even if they work for Ganon, they worked hard for their money and in the case of Wind Waker... jewelry. They deserve all that money they gained, they're on a life-or-death mission.

I mean, they're soldiers in a war, man.

And Wizzrobes look nice. People still hate them, though. /:

Ganon pays them almost nothing, at least by Link's standards. Seriously, you kill the entire gang of Bokoblins and you get only twenty-five rupees. Still, Link is probably the richest person in hyrule, like in TWW, your grandma sends you her life's savings, and it's only twenty rupees!

But... But... Redeads are UNDEAD man! They have no need for moneys in the afterlife!

(Why this topic has gotten so absurd that we're discussing existantial fairness and political correctness in a fantasy video game simply BOGGLES the mind!)

I guess just cuase it's fun to debate stuff like this. :)

Referring to another, earlier post, Link is a classic example of religion working as a justification of one's crimes.  He's going on a Holy Crusade to reclaim the Triforce for the 'good guys', so it's okay to kill, burn, and steal in the name of all that's right and good, right?

The same thing goes on in a million other video games.  People see Tingle as evil because he isn't waving his own personal banner.  If he were to be waving the Hylian flag in FSA, you'd be less reluctant to let him have 'that one Force Gem', wouldn't you?

ReDeads are still people, though. Dead, rotting people/zombies, but people none the less.

I disapprove of violence in the general direction of Zelda enemies. That octorok has a family to support, too! And the selfish sport of dodongo bombing is causing a serious decline of wild dodongo populations!

Zoratunic

And when you kill Ganon, you murder the only male gerudo for this century!

MatthewThief

i like pink octorocks, but their so easy to kill  :(

Keaton

What the hell?

Where did that come from?

I think you have the wrong thread, dude.

MatthewThief

Fisk was talking about octorocks, and pink octorocks usually have rupees

Keaton

Well, regardless, let's get back on topic. :P

Still, even with all of this cruelty to monsters stuff, if I was walking about Hyrule, and saw a monster coming towards me, the first thing I probably would do is try to kill it. Really, it's a life or death situation here! And I wouldn't be suprised if Link felt the same.

QuoteUhh... I'd just like to point out that the redeads, wizzrobes AND moblins all work for Ganon. So there.

No they don't, unless Ganon influenced the events in for instance MM and TMC. I also tend to think redeads are just convenient leftovers from times gone by than actually working for Ganon.

P.S., about not needing money in the after life, various ancient cultures thought VERY differently. I also suggest playing Grim Fandango. ;)

You do? I disapprove of cruelty to animals. If it all were real, I'd try to flee first and only if that wouldn't work, I would try to scare/hurt the creature, but still not kill it.

I disapprove of cruelty to real animals also, however, there is a big difference between animal and monster. And if I've learned one thing from Zelda, it's that monsters are never discouraged by multiple stab wounds, or the sight of their comrades dying. Plus, I really doubt that you could someone could scare one of those monsters away. The scariest thing Link ever could do was put on that Hero's Charm in TWW, and the monster's didn't ingnore hom.
