edit: And I always hated getting caught by Gary when my pokemon were badly hurt.
It felt like such a kick in the crotch to get sent all the way back to the pokemon center in the first town.

I feel HG/SS has that problem, too. ...Except, in my case, he had a Feraligatr buffed up on steroids or something.

I don't see how Silver's Feraligatr would have been any problem, but then, I had caught a Mareep early on in the game and trained it up to counter Silver's starter.

Perhaps it would help if just about every Pokemon in HGSS Kanto wasn't level 15 or under.
